DIY Candlestick Upcycle With Hot Glue & Chalkboard Paint (Process & Video)

in Hive Diy7 hours ago

Greetings Hive

Just a fun project with some hot glue and black chalkboard paint.

Items Needed/Used:

  • Old candlestick
  • Chalkboard paint (Black)
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot glue gun & glue
  • Spiked Studs
  • Black chains
  • Old cross pendant

All items were things I already had laying around, nothing was bought, only useless odds and ends made into something beautiful instead of being wasted.

The original candlestick, which was okay enough but not really my vibe. It definitely needed a lot more grrr to it.

Now THIS part was fun! Using the hot glue I just added little blobs and let them drip down as they wanted, only guiding things a little bit. The sort of melty/dripping effect is exactly what I was going for.

Even with only one layer of chalkboard paint it was looking good, but definitely still needed a little bit more. Just a few final touches to tie everything together, I wanted a touch of elegance AND agression.

Spiked studs? Hells yeah! Definitely that touch of aggression that was needed. It still needed just a little bit of pretty though.

The addition of some black chains really tied the whole thing together very nicely.

Getting decent photos of it was pretty challenging due to the lack of a proper space for taking photos. I will probably set up something nice once in the future.

Making videos with this was a lot of fun. I enjoyed this project a lot and use this candlestick often.

Well that's it, thanks for reading!

Till next time!

What a beautiful dark style design, I love the black color for decorations and with the elegant touch of the roses, wonderful creation 😍

Thanks! Old project but I'm trying to catch up on posting. All that photo editing takes ages.
