Here is my entry for BeerSaturday 437 with my latest beer purchased during my visit to the BreWskey Tap Room in Old Montreal. This is the NEPA Revolte, the can with this protester caught my eye and I was curious to learn a bit more about this type of beer, NEPA.
Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 437 avec ma dernière bière achetée lors de mon passage par la Tap Room de BreWskey dans le Vieux-Port à Montréal. Il s'agit de la NEPA Revolte, la canette avec ce manifestant a sû attiré mon oeil et j'étais curieux d'en apprendre un peu plus sur ce type de bière, NEPA.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :
As a reminder, since not much has changed from last week, the BreWskey brewery was founded in 2015 by Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud and Derrick Robertson, who, as is often the case, are a group of friends passionate about beer but also whisky (especially Guillaume), hence the name. They started the adventure as a taproom and then in 2019 began brewing their own beers, mainly IPAs. Their facilities are perfectly located to enjoy their hoppy creations while admiring Old Montreal. And as it happens, the NEPA I have in my hands today is a great illustration of their expertise in IPAs.
Pour rappel, car pas grand chose à changer depuis la semaine dernière, la brasserie BreWskey a été fondée en 2015 par Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud et Derrick Robertson, qui comme c'est souvent le cas, un groupe d'amis passionnés par la bière mais aussi le whisky d'où le nom. Ils commencent l'aventure comme taproom puis en 2019 brassent leurs propres bières, surtout des IPA. Leurs installations sont parfaitement situées pour déguster leurs créations houblonnées en admirant le Vieux-Montréal. Et justement, la NEPA que j'ai entre les mains aujourd'hui illustre bien leur savoir-faire en matière d'IPA.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
REVOLTE is a NEPA with 5.8% alcohol hopped with Superdelic, Kohia Nelson, Mosaic and Galaxy. I thought NEPA and NEIPA were two different types of beer, but it seems not. Strange because some of their beers are identified as NEIPA. If you know why, feel free to leave a comment. In the glass, we find this beer style's characteristic appearance, opaque and orange, a bit like fruit juice topped with a white foam. On the palate, it's a rather fruity profile with very light bitterness. Another good beer from this brewery, so far it's a perfect score 😀.
La REVOLTE est une NEPA avec 5.8% d'alcool houblonnée avec Superdelic, Kohia Nelson, Mosaic et Galaxy. Je pensais que NEPA et NEIPA étaient deux types de bières différentes mais il semblerait que non. Étrange car certains de leurs bières sont identifiées comme NEIPA. Si vous savez pourquoi, n'hésitez pas de laisser cela en commentaire. Dans le verre, on retrouve cette robe caractéristique de ce type de bière, opaque et orangée, un peu comme un jus de fruit surmontée d'une mousse blanche. En bouche, c'est un profit plutôt fruité avec une amertume très légère. Encore une bonne bière de cette brasserie, pour l'instant c'est un sans-faute 😀.
Design
The design from BreWskey is also always interesting. We're moving away from the usual SteamPunk style with this can. But this protester, in revolt, with his "Houblon" sign (I want the same one 😀) is very well done. I imagine that after protesting all day, this beer must be good for morale.
Le design de BreWskey est aussi toujours intéressant. On s'éloigne du SteamPunk avec cette canette. Mais ce manifestant, révolté, avec sa pancarte Houblon (je veux la même) est bien réussi. J'imagine qu'après une manifestation toute la journée cette bière doit faire du bien au moral.
