RE: My Solo Tea Night: Thank Heavens for Green! (My Appreciation for Green Tea)

A tea that's almost like chocolate? I want that!!
I had an interest in green teas last year (aside from milk teas haha) and I bought a Matcha powder from Bangkok. I made one and drank it and just shortly after I felt nauseous. I really felt sick to my stomach haha apparently tea really does that if you drink it on an empty stomach. I just ate maybe 2 hours before that so I wasn't hungry or anything so I never thought of eating biscuits with it... and so that is also apparently the reason why people eat biscuits (or in milk tea, boba) with teas, so they don't get nauseous. That discouraged me to drink again tbh haha but I should do that again since that matcha powder was really good despite me not really into green teas.

Same! I don't drink coffee and tea on an empty stomach. The acids!

I drink my tea 2 hours after meals. Teas have tannins that inhibit absorption of iron. And we don't know what else it does with food. I'm anaemic and trying my best to get as much Iron as I can from my meals so yea

And also make sure to not steep your green tea for longer than 3 minutes. The longer it sits there, the more acidic it gets IMO

Matcha is 😍 There's one from Malaysia that I loved called AEK CHEONG. Any "Matcha" that doesn't come from Japan isn't technically a Matcha, they're green tea powder, but heck they are just as good as the common non-ceremonial grade ones from Japan!

I hope you'll find the courage to try it out again. Little by little, with biscuits or after meals.
