Cooking in the rice cooker or electric frying pan can be complicated for many people, I recommend that you try starting with simple recipes and you will see that you will be able to master these electric helpers.

Making rice in the rice cooker is quite simple, but from time to time I like to add more ingredients and get a complete meal with lots of flavour. I'll share with you how I made my rice for lunch, and I made it with beef, I have about 300 grams of Steak, Top round, I chopped these steaks into small pieces and seasoned them with oregano, paprika, salt and Worcestershire sauce and pepper.

I chop carrot, onion and garlic; I also add a bay leaf, and to start the cooking it is better to put all this with the meat, look everything is ready, we put the lid on and let it cook for about ten minutes approximately.

In the meantime I look for some ripe tomatoes to add to the food, it is good that they are ripe and juicy, I cut them into big pieces because they will fall apart when they are cooked.

After the meat has been cooking for ten minutes, it's time to add the tomatoes, stir a little and add a glass of water.

Now this is left to cook until the liquid is reduced by half, the pot should remain covered during this process, it can take fifteen to twenty minutes.

The result is a very aromatic thick sauce, then add the rice (1.5 cups), stir and mix everything very well, and finally add water (2.5 cups), check how salty the food is, and put the lid on the pot, let the rice cook.

Although it is a complete meal I made a salad to accompany this delicious meal, it is a simple cabbage salad with onion dressing.

This onion dressing is exquisite, I made it with: half a chopped onion, chopped green onion, a teaspoon of mustard, a tablespoon of honey, two tablespoons of natural yoghurt, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, the juice of half a lemon, salt and two tablespoons of olive oil.

Delicioso arroz con carne de res, y ensalada de repollo

Cocinar en la arrocera o en sartén eléctrico puede ser complicado para muchas personas, yo recomiendo que prueben iniciar con recetas sencillas y ya verán que luego podrán dominar éstos ayudantes eléctricos.

Hacer arroz en la arrocera es bastante simple, pero de vez en cuando me gusta añadir más ingredientes y obtener una comida completa con mucho sabor. Les comparto como hice mi arroz para el almuerzo, y lo hice con carne de res, tengo unos 300 gramos de filetes Pulpa negra (Pulpa bola), éstos filetes los pique en trocitos pequeños y los he sazonado con orégano, paprika, sal y salsa inglesa y pimienta.

He picado zanahoria, cebolla y ajo; también le agrego una hoja de laurel, y para iniciar la cocción es mejor colocar todo esto con la carne, miren todo está listo, le colocamos la tapa y dejamos cocinar por unos diez minutos aproximadamente.

Mientras tanto busco unos tomates maduros para agregarle a la comida, es bueno que estén bien maduros y jugosos, los corto en trozos grandes porque se van a deshacer cuando se cocinen.

Después de que la carne estuvo diez minutos de cocción, es momento de añadir los tomates, mover un poco y añadir un vaso de agua.

Ahora esto se deja cocinar hasta reducir el líquido por la mitad, la olla debe permanecer tapada durante este proceso, puede durar quince o veinte minutos.

El resultado es una salsa espesa muy aromática, luego agrego el arroz (1,5 tazas) hay que mover y mezclar todo muy bien, y para finalizar agregar agua (2,5 tazas), verificar como está de sal la comida, y colocar la tapa de la olla, dejar que el arroz se cocine.

Aunque es una comida completa yo hice una ensalada para acompañar esta deliciosa comida, es una ensalada sencilla de repollo, con aderezo de cebolla.

Este aderezo de cebolla es exquisito, lo hice con: media cebolla picada, cebollino picado, una cucharadita de mostaza, una cucharada de miel, dos cucharadas de yogurt natural, una cucharada de vinagre de manzana, el zumo de medio limón, sal y dos cucharadas de aceite de oliva.
