Hey everyone, what are you up to this New Year? It's been a while since I last see you, because I have a lot to do at the end of last year and I think I'm ready to do in the Hive this year.

Before starting the year, a week ago I tried something new: a date with my wife, because she's my only food buddy. Even though my scale has started to shift to the right, there's still the beginning of the year for making additional resolutions: losing weight and building muscle.

Okay, wait, forget those resolutions, let's eat now. I'm standing right in a different restaurant, and the vibe is like being in South Korea. The writing is very unfamiliar, but I often see it in K-dramas. 1988 sounds like the title of a comedy K-drama I like.

The inside is really similar to the South Korean street food I see on television, and all the menu items here are alcohol-free. Like this brewed drink, the bottle resembles soju, but it's only Yakult, aka Yogurt Drink.

We ordered some interesting and familiar dishes: odeng, toppoki, and Korean grilled chicken. They were all red with gocchujang, right? I thought I'd have a stomach ache from the bloating and spiciness, but that was just my imagination.

The taste ia sweet and spicy, but not overpowering. The gocchujang really good with a flavor that's already popular with Indonesians. I thought it can be authentic, but unfortunately it's not. However, businesses like this need to be more sustainable, because if the market doesn't like the taste, it's failed and really so sad.

My favorite thing about all the dishes? Of course, the cheese and chicken dipping, but the odeng was no less interesting. The odeng really delicious and good taste, chewy but the fish flavor didn't fade, and it was quite good compared to all the odeng I've had. Honestly, I'd go back if I want something different.

The vibe was engaging, the service was good, and the food was served quickly! However, it wasn't very busy when I went, and you know why? It's quite expensive. Honestly, if we shared it would have been very cheap and worth it, but since the two of us ate this much food, it was a shame that I didn't bring 2 more people to enjoy the South Korean food in my city.

Eating is a real pleasure, but the downside is gaining weight. That menu was really good with all those different flavors. Bon appétit. Best regards.
