Would you think the best way to handle autism, diabetes, PTSD, or a broken bone is punishing the person with the medical or psychological condition?

If so, why?

If not, how is this different to punishing addiction with fines, imprisonment, and worse?

Sort:

Does society punish these set of people? How? Can you please give me an instance.

I don't think anyone with these conditions should be punished. And I think the people with this condition should learn to not care what society thinks of them. Just live their best lives. And give a middle finger to anyone trying to punish them for something that isn't their fault.

The US war on drugs is designed to punish people, not help them. Violent black markets and tainted drugs also proliferate because of these punitive policies.
