New Recall 2011-2013 Soul “HECU May Cause Engine Compartment Fire” (Remedy now available as of 6/20/24)
I had been aware of this for several months and just last week had the opportunity to go and make an appointment for the repair at Calavan Kia.
I had just returned from the bank where my brother (who died) had his money, and I withdrew the last of it since that was my share of his estate (or what was left)
So I took my Kia by, made the appointment, then I talked with a salesman.
I had been in mind to try and get a SMALL, old Nissan pickup truck for hauling things around here.
I've been doing that for 4 yrs with my Kia and it has been getting beat up.
The salesman and I walked around looking, but there WERE NO TRUCKS at all, especially as old as I wanted.
But he showed me this Nissan SUV

I bought it (or should I say I financed it) so now for the first time since I was 25 yrs old, I have a car payment.

This is a 2018 Nissan Rogue with 43,000+ miles on it. It really is a luxury car because of all the bells and whistles.
I felt reasonably confident in this because I had switched my auto and homeowners insurance to a different company which is saving me quite a bit... but not really THAT much.
Still....
The day after I brought it home, I was ill and decided to go see my Chiropractor, but the key fob to start the car wasn't recognized at first

I did get it crunk and went to the Dr, but once there it absolutely would not start.
I called the dealership, and was told to ***Use the end of the key fob to press the start button 🤡
That worked, and the second fob when I got home was fine.
Endless emails and problems with the insurance AND the finance company, because just as soon as I entered all my data (name, address, Social Security number and phone) I was alerted that EVERY LAST BIT of it was now on the dark web

I was and still am furious about that, but I keep all three credit agency files frozen so no one can take out a loan or anything messing with my credit, but I still don't like that crap 💩

As you can see I still have excellent credit.
Between storms and illness, it has been a very rough week so far. But despite it all I have managed to get some things done (see previous posts)
While on the test drive, we passed this and got a laugh

Someone was sorely disappointed by the election results. 🤣
So for now, I have two cars and mounting debt, but I remain alive and above ground.
This will serve as my #Wednesdaywalk for this week.

REgardless of the choice you made, I want to say congrats on your new car:)

I have a Rogue as well and in fact I think this is my second or third one and i love them,
leps hope your week ahead is better

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day

I have just now received an email from the dealership, asking if I'd be interested in selling my Rogue back to them and exchange it for a new Nissan with the same finance payments.
Methinks I smell a scam 🤣

well I think with most dealerships they send such letters but when you go in the numbers never match and they make an offer where the payments are a lot more

Jerry,
We often receive requests for pre-owned vehicle models similar to yours. According to our records, it appears you have approximately 75 payments remaining on your 2018 Nissan Rogue and are paying approximately $381.
Being able to acquire vehicles that we have either sold, serviced or both that we can add to our Pre-Owned inventory is the best possible scenario. In a search of our customer records I identified your car as a perfect match for us. As compensation to you, if we could upgrade you to a newer Nissan Rogue keeping your payments about the same, would you consider letting us purchase your car?

Best regards,

Shane Richards
Sales Consultant

I called and asked MY salesperson about this. He said that Shane Richards does indeed work there, and it really IS a legit message, but it shouldn't have come to me so soon and told me to delete it, so I did.
I had to go to my trash file to retrieve it so I could C&P the content

yeah I didnt think it was a scam just an over zealous salesman

I have got similar letters where they actually quoted numbers I did go in to see them maybe a month or so ago after one of those letters of course when they ran the numbers it was a lot higher monthly payment like 300 more and I walked out

Good for you JJ @tattoodjay
