RE: Cassava With Homemade Tomato Sauce

Cassava looks like a sweet potato that we eat in the Southern U.S. as a vegetable. The outside is a yellowish / orange color, as is the inside flesh. When we cook it, we add sugar to make it sweet, then prepare it in a sweet potato pie.

Here's one I baked:

They are root family plants, so they are similar
But cassava is plain in taste
I also have sweet potato recipe

Oh, your cake loooks soo delicious!

Thanks so much. Yes, they are foot family plants. We also have what is called Yams. They are lighter in color. My family loves my sweet potato pies. I published the recipe on Hive. The crust is flour based.

Both yams and sweet potato are high in calories and carbs. Add sugar, and it's really sweet and not to be eaten regularly, but on special occasions. I usually cook them for holidays.

Take care.
