It's because once you're fine, I'm fine

Greetings everyone 🙌

Like I usually tell people, I have never been afraid of my own death; the one that scares me most is the death of a loved one. That's why anytime I hear that any of my family members or friends is sick, my heart sinks, and I push into any length to cater to such a person.
I have friends on this blockchain whom I know a bit about their health situations, and anytime I don't hear from them for a while, my heart becomes worried, and I make sure to give them a call to ensure everything is okay.

One never ceases to ask, "Kingsley, if I'm not fine, what are you going to do? Are you going to send money or come over to my state?"
I would just laugh upon hearing all this and give her my deep-hearted phrase, 'Once you're fine, I'm fine'

Let me not center on family members in response to this prompt because being there for them is more like a compulsory responsibility.

During my NYSC, there was a week when I went out for a function in the state capital. Upon returning home on a Friday evening, all my money got exhausted; I mean my bank account was totally empty. There was no worry because I was living alone and had no one to feed. I just checked my kitchen and made supper from what was left in the foodstuff container.
I was eating when my phone rang, I checked, and it was one of my colleagues. Unfortunately, she had been sick, and she just called to know if I'm back to help her join in prayer. I asked her the level of her sickness, and oh boy, it was so serious, and she had been relying on mere prescription (more like a personal prescription).

I didn't waste time; I left my food and went to their compound, and truly, she was sick, covered in clothes on her bed. To be sincere, prayers didn't come to my mind even though that's what people recommend first. I had to go and sort out means for her to get good drugs. So bad, I didn't have money with me, and there was no place or way to collect drugs on credit. I hadn't done that, and also, we were strangers in the land, and I never liked the idea of buying things on credit before I would be tagged as such a person by the villagers.

I pondered a lot, and I had to succumb to buying on credit. Back then, our pastor's wife was into medics; she owned a medicine shop, so I decided to go to her shop, at least that's the person I could explain to a little.
I got there around 9:10 pm, and she was surprised to see me in her shop because I had only visited her once.

My mouth was full because I didn't know how to start begging for credit. Finally, I mustered the courage to let her know that one of us was sick and I needed medicine to attend to her, but I had no money with me. She asked for the description of the sickness, which I explained to her. She prescribed the drugs; many capsules and packs. She gave them to me and said I shouldn't pay.

Jeeez! I hated that pitiful lifestyle. I didn't mind her because I had in mind to pay once I got the money, so I ran away after thanking her.

The lady took the medicine, thanked me a lot, and after like two days, she got back herself.

Meanwhile, I sorted money to go and pay back my pastor's wife, but she refused to collect. I had to tell the lady what happened, and she followed me to go and thank our pastor's wife.

Thanks for reading.

That is what we call being selfless.
You went out of your way just to help her get better.
That is what we need to do when we say we love our neighbors.

Yeah,
If everyone one of us operate this way, the world would become a better place.

Thank you for stopping by.

Yes.
You're welcome

Oh wow, so someone can be kind...hehehehe

That was a brave move on your part, taking the shame to plead for drugs for a friend. Truthfully, there are levels of sickness that needs prayers but also require drugs. Faith without work is dead so does the scripture say.

Oh wow, so someone can be kind...hehehehe

Take 2mins to Google about me

Honestly, I know this prayer of a thing so well and it works with Faith which works with WORK😅.
