Perfect Sunday

in Indiaunitedyesterday

I used to be among those who jubilate whenever it’s the weekend because it means resting galore, but I found myself out of that zone and disliking the fact that the whole world accepts that parties and functions are fixed on weekends just because they think everyone is free on weekends. Is everyone free on weekends? No! That’s the truth, but the majority is always winning this—most jobs have weekends as resting days.

Anyways, I still have a feel of the weekend even though weekends are my biggest working days, and I always look forward to it, and that’s only on Sunday. Yes, Fridays and Saturdays are not among. Oftentimes, I usually have it my way, and sometimes it gets disorganised too.

If I could plan my Sunday;

The top priority would be to have maximum rest in my bed.

My Sunday would start with the usual die-minute rush to church. Yes, I love it that way; I love to prepare for church with just a few minutes left before the deadline of meeting the church preparatory meeting (before the actual church time).

Church time would last till at most 11 a.m., and anything short of that, I would leave the church. Unfortunately, I can’t even dream of leaving church by 9 a.m. after the first service, but if I had my way, I would do that.

When I get home, I would go and buy a delicious meal and eat. Yes, I wouldn’t want to pass through the stress of cooking before I eat, and the food I will buy must be a meat-full meal. Yes, I want to enjoy myself.

After enjoying myself with the meal, the next thing is to take a shower with very cold water, and after that, I would jump into my soft bed and sleep off.

Honestly, I wouldn’t bother if there’s electricity or not because my phone and power banks are usually fully charged on Saturdays, and I have a solar fan that doesn’t need electricity to power. So my Sunday sleep will be very undisturbed and very relaxing with the fan blowing. The only thing that would have made me want electricity is the TV, but I’m not freaked about TV. Funny enough, I haven’t put on my TV for a couple of months.

I would sleep from that afternoon to probably 4 p.m. or 5 p.m., when I would wake up, take my bath again, and head out to the football arena to watch a football match. When coming back, I would buy a bottle of energy drink and suya to use in chilling for the night.

Rest is very important @kingsleyy . Especially for those of us who work week to week. But fun 🤩 is cool too.

Like the football 🏈 you take out to go and watch in the evenings. It refreshes the mind for a new week ahead.

Compliments of the season 🎄
