Year-end holidays, or Christmas holidays, as we call them, bring together times. Family travels from afar. Mostly my younger son, who lives six hours away by car, but he flies down rather as the roads are extremely busy. Not only quicker by air, but much safer.
A huge Burger stack shown above, which my son and the girlfriend said was very good, while Mom chose a crispy thin-based Pizza.

Early morning teatime treats.

Food, of course, plays a significant role in all the festivities, and discovering the excellent eateries near my new home led to some delicious meals and less time in the kitchen, as you saw above.
I could not escape my share of providing for our bring-and-share Christmas lunch, though - Mini Haddock Quiches, tiny Apple, Herb & Pork Sausage Rolls, plus the same dessert I've been making for the past few years, a special request from the family - Berry Pavlovas and Granadilla Yogurt Tart.
Christmas day was very special with much laughter, especially from my sister-in-law's 91-year-old Mom, who was in top form! It was a great pick-me-up, because I was still feeling the effects of a lingering bronchitis.
This is some of the spread prepared by the ladies.

About that bronchitis, I'm now on a pulmonary rehab program and am sticking to it. I need to get 100% well again, as there's still much to do in my new home.

A couple more pictures from my old house were hung just before Christmas.

Both these paintings are the artwork of Peter Wink, my friend @artywink's hubby.

These photos came from my Ouma's photo album. No one knows who these family members are; my uncle, who framed them, was cruelly taken from us, and was the only one who could have answered that question!
The new year has started, and with it the promise of new things, and I cannot wait to embrace it!

I have a couple of boxes to open up still, and see if there are any hidden treasures that I can unearth; of course, stuff that would only be a treasure to me.
