Hello, lovely foodies here in the Hive Food Community! 🫰🏻🥰🫰🏻
In my hubby's recent post, we visited my brother’s new house. There, he made us a tofu sisig, and I told myself that I have to make this at home. 😍
It was so creamy, tasty, and full of flavor, way better than I expected. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I decided to copy his recipe and make it for my family too. 😋😍
Ingredients:

• 4 blocks tofu
• 5 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 1 small can liver spread
• 2 medium red onions
• 2 calamansi
• 1 large red chili
• 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 1/2 teaspoon salt & black pepper
• cooking oil
Let's cook!

First, I heated some cooking oil in my pan, enough to fry the tofu well. When the oil was hot enough, I dropped the tofu pieces in and fried them until they turned light golden brown and got a little crisp on the outside. I didn’t overcook them, just enough so they wouldn’t break easily. Once done, I took them out and set them aside for later.

While the tofu cooled a little, I got a separate clean bowl and prepared all the ingredients for the special sauce. I scooped the liver spread and put all of it into the bowl, then added mayonnaise. Then I squeezed calamansi, added soy sauce, and sprinkled a little salt and ground black pepper. I mixed everything really well until it became smooth, thick, and evenly blended.

Next, I took the fried tofu and put all the chopped red onion right on top of it. The onion adds a nice fresh crunch and mild sweetness that goes perfectly with the tofu. Then I poured all the creamy sauce I just made over the tofu and onions. I mixed everything gently, making sure every piece got coated nicely with the sauce.

Now because we have kids at home, I just sliced the big red chili into thin pieces, but I did NOT mix it into the sisig. I just sprinkled and arranged all the chili slices right on top of the finished dish. This way, the kids can enjoy their serving without any spice.
And that’s it! Just simple mixing, and we already had this delicious tofu sisig ready to eat.
Until my next recipe...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
