Hello everyone, I'm back to cooking a lot lately because I want to eat Thai food. This is a menu that I've wanted to eat for a long time. Since I moved here, I haven't eaten it much and I'm not sure if people here will like it, so I haven't made it yet. This time, I tried making it. This menu is called Jarua Dong, which is a local Khmer language in the lower northeastern region. This menu was talked about for a while because there was a famous Thai singer, Lisa Manoban. She is from Buriram and she likes this menu very much. No matter what menu she talks about, that menu will be popular. And she talks about the menu. I'm the same. I'm from the same hometown as her. My mother often makes it for me and I like it very much too. In Thai, it's called Mackerel coconut milk chili paste. Let's see what ingredients and steps are used in this menu.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans of mackerel (2 pieces)
  • 150 ml coconut milk
  • 50 grams of shallots (if you like garlic, you can add it)
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of fish sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of seasoning powder
  • 1 tablespoon of fermented fish
  • 1 tablespoon of tamarind juice (depending on your preference, some people don't add it)

Method
  • Cut the shallots into small pieces so they cook quickly and then roast them over low heat until they are cooked and fragrant. Then, pound them, but not too finely because you want to taste the shallots when you eat them.

  • Fry or roast the mackerels. The fish in the can has water. Just use the meat and the mackerels are still large pieces, so you can pound them finely. Some people pound them, depending on their preference. Dry fry until fragrant

  • Add coconut milk, mix well, and stir for a while until the coconut milk separates, so that it is fragrant and creamy. Then add the pounded shallots.

The delicious Jrua Dong menu is done. This meal is eaten with sticky rice and fried eggs with bell peppers. It is delicious and the vegetables are indispensable. If you like to eat it with any vegetables, you can eat it with chili paste. I guarantee that it goes well with all kinds of vegetables, whether fresh or boiled. This menu makes you eat a lot of rice because it is very delicious.

And this is my food. For those who have never tried it, I recommend you try it. Or if you don't like mackerel, you can use other types of fish instead, but the taste may not be the same. It depends on the type of fish. And I hope everyone likes my cooking posts. Thank you for following. Have a great day.
