Have you ever eaten a eukaryotic cell? Well this one is chocolate 😋 and I made it for my nephew Sahel's biology project.

As you know, I love creative baking, my nephew brought me a new challenge and I didn't hesitate to accept it, well he came begging me to please help him with his final project, and what aunt has the heart not to listen to her nephew's pleas?

He brought me the ingredients super late, I baked two chocolate cakes, the recipe I have already shared with you on another occasion, so I will omit it in this publication. I had to get up early this morning to decorate the cake before going to work but I loved the result 😀.

Ingredients.

  • Chocolate cake 22 cm diameter by 8 cm high.
  • Chocolate cake 22 cm in diameter by 5 cm tall
  • Italian meringue
  • Chocolate cream
  • Food coloring
  • Straw

Step by Step.

I started working with the 5 cm diameter cake, with the ruler I marked 6.5 cm in diameter, cut and then placed that piece on the cake to get one of the same size, I had a long strip of cake left over from the center of the cake and I used it to make what would be the core of the cell.

I placed these pieces on top of the 8 cm cake and in the center a small layer, at first glance it looked like a stage. I made a small truffle with the cake cutouts and a little chocolate cream to make it compact.

Cómo saben, me encanta la reposteria creativa, mi sobrino me trajo un nuevo reto y no dude en aceptarlo , bueno vino rogando que por favor lo ayudara con su cierre de proyecto, y ¿ que tía tiene corazón para no escuchar las súplicas de su sobrino?

Me trajo los ingredientes super tarde, hornee dos tortas de chocolate, la receta ya la he compartido con ustedes en otra ocasión, por eso la omitire en esta publicación. Me tuve que levantar está mañana bien tempranito a decorar la torta antes de irme al trabajo pero me encantó el resultado 😀.

Ingredientes

  • Torta de chocolate de 22cm de diámetro por 8 cm de alto
  • Torta de chocolate de 22 cm de diámetro por 5 cm de alto
  • Merengue italiano
  • Crema de chocolate
  • Colorantes alimentarios
  • Pitillo

Paso a Paso

Empece trabajando con la torta de 5 cm de diámetro, con la regla marque 6.5 cm en su diámetro, corte y luego coloque ese pedazo sobre la torta para sacar uno del mismo tamaño, me sobró una tira larga de torta del centro de la torta y está la use para hacer lo que sería el núcleo de la célula.

Coloque estos pedazos sobre la torta de 8 cm y en el centro una pequeña capa, a simple vista parecía un escenario. Hice una pequeña trufa Con los recortes de pastel y un poco de crema de chocolate para que compactará.

This is how the cake looks like, so far it is taking the shape of a eukaryotic cell, however, the cake is soft so to ensure its stability and shape I placed a resistant straw, put wax paper on top and with one of the cake pans I covered the cake, put weight on top and took it to the refrigerator while the Italian meringue was ready, this way the cake is compacted and firm.

Este es el aspecto de la torta, hasta ahora va tomado forma de célula eucariota, sin embargo, el pastel es suave asi que para asegurar su estabilidad y forma coloque un pitillo resistente, coloque papel encerado arriba y con una de las torteras cubrí la torta, coloque peso encima y lleve a la nevera mientras estaba listo el merengue italiano , de esta forma el pastel se compacta y queda firme.

Once the Italian meringue was ready, I reserved a portion to be able to apply different food coloring and the largest amount I applied a few drops of blue coloring.

I began to cover the cake starting with what would be the front of the cell, I was smoothing and shaping with the scrapers and the angular spatula until I covered the entire diameter of the cake except the center where the truffle is.

Al tener listo el merengue italiano, reserve una porción para poder aplicar diversos colorantes alimentarios y la mayor cantidad le aplique unas gotas de colorante con un tono azul.

Empece a cubrir la torta empezando por lo que sería el frente de la célula, fui alisando y dando forma con el scrapers y la espátula angular hasta cubrir todo el diámetro de la torta excepto el centro en dónde está la trufa.

With the help of different nozzles and disposable sleeves, I created each shape of the cell's components (and I remembered when I had to present on this topic in high school 😃).

Con ayuda de diferentes boquillas y mangas desechables fui creando cada forma de los componentes de la célula (y recordé cuando me tocó exponer sobre ese tema en bachillerato 😃)

As I was adding different colors and shapes the cake was taking more shape, it looked very pretty and eye-catching.

Mientras iba agregando colores y formas diferentes el pastel iba tomando más forma, se veía muy bonito y llamativo.

This was the final result 😃, I placed the logo of my venture and quickly took a picture with the chocolate eukaryotic cell 🍫 I felt very proud to have achieved it and above all to have helped my nephew for his project closure because I know that at the end of his evaluation they will taste an exquisite chocolate cake made with lots of love ☺️.

Este fue el resultado final 😃, coloque el logo de mi emprendimiento y rápidamente me tome una foto con la célula eucariota de chocolate 🍫 me sentí muy orgullosa de haberlo logrado y sobre todo haber ayudado a mi sobrino para su cierre de proyecto porque se que al final de su evaluación degustarán una exquisita torta de chocolate hecha con mucho amor ☺️.
