After yesterday's flood, basic necessities became very scarce, and grocery stores had very few of the food items we needed. Even if they were available, the prices had gone up. Hopefully, this country will recover soon. The community is very frightened by this crisis situation. I always take the initiative to cook whatever I have at home. For example, I had to harvest my cassava immediately because it was submerged by the flood, and we were afraid it would rot on the tree.
Sausages wrapped in cassava are an alternative during rainy days and a snack after the flood. This frozen food is very easy to find. The frozen food store seller said these were leftover sausages from before the flood. They were still in very good condition and usable because when the power went out, he saved them in a safe place in his house. Using the leftover ingredients in the house that survived yesterday's flood, namely the harvested cassava, I planned to combine these two ingredients. After all, many of my cassava plants died due to being submerged in floodwaters for a whole week, so I decided to process them into a delicious dish that could be enjoyed today.
Fried Cassava Sausage

Fried cassava sausage is a dish made from boiled cassava that is mashed and then mixed with sausage as the filling. It is then coated with flour and fried until cooked. The result is incredibly delicious, and children are sure to love it. This snack is also perfect as a side dish to enjoy during lunch. Its savory flavor is just right, and the crispy outer layer makes it even more appealing.
Ingredients

Sausage to taste
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
Flour to taste
1 egg
½ teaspoon of salt
Cooking Procedure
Boil the cassava until tender with enough water. If you want to steam it as well, you can do so.

After boiling until tender, pound the cassava while it is still hot so that it is as smooth as possible.

Once smooth, add the butter and stir until well blended, then add one teaspoon of salt.

The crispy outer layer with the soft cassava inside is quite flavorful. When dipped in chili sauce, it adds a spicy and umami flavor. I think this will be delicious to enjoy while it's still warm with a cup of hot tea while relaxing. I even think this could be an alternative for your children's lunchbox. Well, for those of you who don't have cassava but are unsure what to do with it, try this method.
