I'm generally pretty compulsive about making sure my shots are square and level. This time I threw caution to the wind. :)
It's a great effect. The wispy trails were likely created by the wind currents and remind me that there is a lot going on behind the scenes on our planet that we rarely get to see and experience directly.
I ended up learning about cirrus clouds a bit because I found the shapes so interesting.
A very beautiful photo, and the stripes made by the clouds are incredible.
I think they are cirrus clouds. Made by warm dry air rising to cause water vapor to form on metallic particles or mineral dust at high altitudes. At least that is what Wikipedia told me. :)
