Satay Padang Sauce With Rice Cake

in Hive Food4 hours ago

Hi bloggers and food lovers, today is a special day, so I’m making a special traditional dish: Satay Padang Sauce With Rice Cake or Satay saus Padang dengan lontong. It’s usually served with chicken or beef skewered on sticks, but this time I’ve added chunks of meat directly into the broth instead of skewering them. Served with lontong made from rice, it’s savory, delicious, and spicy. Alright, let’s get right to it

Ingredients:

  • satay spice paste (shallots, garlic, ground chili, turmeric, ginger, galangal)
  • 3 cloves
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 curry leaf
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 3 tbsp rice flour
  • 1000 ml water
  • 50 grams of small pieces of beef
  • cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp salt

Steps:

  • Heat cooking oil in a saucepan

  • Sauté the ground spices, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, curry leaf, and cardamom pods in the pan until cooked and fragrant

  • Once cooked, add water to the saucepan

  • Add the small pieces of beef to the saucepan

  • Stir all ingredients until well combined

  • Cook the broth until the meat is tender

  • Once the meat is tender, add the rice flour slurry

  • Stir continuously until the broth thickens

  • Turn off the heat and serve with slices of rice cake or lontong on a plate

  • Satay Padang Sauce With Rice Cake is ready to eat
