Seriously, it's Wednesday, February 14, and I've spent this 'Valentine's Day' in a frightening calm. Well, I like to take #life slowly, but it will be healthier for me if I start leaving the house more frequently. I don't think it's good, that I go out so rarely, and that I feel an increasing aversion to leaving home. I even realized that it was the Day of Friendship and Love when checking social networks, I am so disconnected from my people that I didn't even know about today's celebration. Even though I previously gave some importance to the date.
When you detect that something is 'strange' or seems to be going in the wrong direction, at the very least it is a sign that all is not lost and that it can be fixed. I seem to remember something I read that the first step to solving a problem is recognizing the problem. That is an axiom of academic research that also makes a lot of sense in the daily life of any person.

Seriamente, es miércoles, 14 de febrero, y este 'Día de San Valentín’ lo he pasado en una calma que asusta. Bien, me gusta llevar la #vida con calma, pero será más sano para mí que empiece a salir de casa con más frecuencia. No creo que sea bueno, que salga tan pocas veces, y que sienta cada vez una mayor aversión por alejarme de casa. Incluso me di cuenta de que era el Día de la Amistad y el Amor al revisar en redes sociales, estoy tan desconectado de mi gente que ni me enteré de la celebración de hoy, a pesar de que anteriormente yo le daba alguna importancia a la fecha.
Cuando detectas que algo está ‘raro’ o parece estar en una mala dirección, cuando menos es un síntoma de que no todo está perdido y que se puede arreglar. Creo recordar algo que leí de que el primer paso para resolver un problema es reconocer el problema. Eso es un axioma de investigación académica que tiene también mucho sentido en la vida cotidiana de cualquier persona.

Partly because of my confusion with the date, I chose a Valentine's Day image with marked humor. I like cats, and the figure of this disheveled cat quite amused me.
I won't say that I am an exclusive fan of cats, in fact, I like many types of pets. At home, we have had dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish, hamsters, among other pets. And I touch on the topic of pets because, on occasions, I have seen that some couples give each other a pet on this date, as a symbol of a creature that depends on their care and #love.
I admit that it is more common to give flowers, balloons, chocolates and other things of that nature, but the gift of pets is something that causes me some conflicted emotions. This is a living creature, not a toy or trinket that can be thrown away if the relationship doesn't work out. Having a pet is a long-term commitment, I don't really like it if it is adopted without having that in mind, out of the pure 'heat of the moment' or out of a 'passionate inspiration'.

En parte, por mi despiste con la fecha, fue que escogí una imagen de San Valentín con un marcado humor. Me agradan los gatos y la figura de este gato despeinado me causó bastante gracia.
No diré que soy fanático exclusivo de gatos, en realidad, me agradan muy diversos tipos de mascotas. En casa hemos tenido perros, gatos, aves, tortugas, peces, Hámsteres, entre otras mascotas. Y toco el tema de las mascotas porque, en ocasiones, he visto que algunas parejas se regalan en esta fecha una mascota, como un símbolo de una criatura que depende de su cuidado y amor.
Admito que es más frecuente regalar flores, globos, chocolates y otras cosas de ese estilo, pero el regalo de mascotas es algo que me causa cierta emoción en conflicto. Es que se trata de una criatura viva, no de un juguete o baratija que se puede tirar si la relación no funciona. Tener una mascota es un compromiso a largo plazo, no me gusta mucho que se adopte sin tener eso en mente, pro el puro ‘calor del momento’ o por una ‘inspiración apasionada’.

Don't take this the wrong way, I actually like that people celebrate love and #friendship, and I like that this date of Catholic saints, #Valentine, has taken on this meaning. No lo tomes a mal, en realidad me gusta que la gente celebre el #amor y la #amistad, y me agrada que esta fecha del santoral católico haya cobrado este sentido. Eso a pesar de que la popularidad de la fecha de celebración tiene una raíz más cercana a los intereses comerciales de las cadenas de comercio del siglo XX, que a sus raíces simbólicas religiosas.
Creo que estoy divagando. Es mejor que me centre en el registro y cierre pronto la publicación. Es un buen momento para avisar a los amigos que me leen con frecuencia que estoy seriamente retomando mis publicaciones de la traducción libre de una novela web de fantasía, que se publica gratuitamente en un sitio chino. Así que si notas que empiezo a publicar con mucha mayor frecuencia, pero solo en español, no te preocupes, es solo que quiero terminar las traducciones que comienzo.
