Hoy he pasado un gran susto. Así que me voy a saltar un poco mi manera habitual de hacer el registro del día. Si eres mi lector frecuente, sabrás que en esta publicación diaria comparto comentarios sobre alguna de las efemérides de cada día, pero hoy estoy cambiando un poco el post. Este martes, de 5 de marzo, estaba trabajando y leyendo algunas cosas en la computadora, y de una manera poco comprensible, terminé derribando la computadora de escritorio al piso…

You can imagine my shock. Seriously, I kind of panicked. I picked up the computer, left the room to get some air, and after calming down I returned to check its status and try to turn it on again. Luckily, nothing was loose or broken, and the machine booted up quickly, in its normal mode.

Te podrás imaginar mi susto. En serio, agarré como que pánico. Recogí la computadora, salí de la habitación para tomar aire, y luego de calmarme fue que regresé para revisar su estado y tratar de encenderla de nuevo. Por buena suerte, no había nada suelto o roto, y la máquina encendió rápidamente, en su modo normal.

Well, it's not like the case of the GIF above, but the situation is similar. My brother reminded me that I have to better fix the place where I have the computer, because it is unstable, but I have delayed it. Today's whole problem started when he was getting me out of my chair to go and serve me coffee in the kitchen. I still don't understand how I stepped on one of the computer cables, and it was pulled out of the support where it is, enough to fall to the ground.

Bueno, no es como el caso del GIF de acá arriba, pero la situación se parece. Mi hermano me recordó que tengo que arreglar mejor el sitio en donde tengo puesta la computadora, porque está inestable, pero lo he retardado. Todo el problema de hoy inicia cuando estaba levantándome de la silla para ir a servirme un café en la cocina. No entiendo aún como es que pisé uno de los cables de la computadora y fue halada hasta salir del soporte en donde está, lo suficiente como para caer al suelo.

What I told you already happens there, it was a strong scare, I felt like I was out of breath. I work and live off of this computer, if something were to happen to it, I don't have the budget on hand to replace it. So things could be serious. After checking and turning it back on, I now have a feeling of 'my soul returned to my body'.

Allí ya sucede lo que te conté, fue un fuerte susto, sentí que se me iba el aire. Trabajo y vivo de esta computadora, si le pasara algo, no tengo a mano presupuesto para reemplazarla. Así que la cosa podría ser grave. Ya luego de revisar y volver a encenderla, estoy ahora con una sensación de ‘me volvió el alma al cuerpo’.

I go back to work, and I take the opportunity to make the day's post earlier. Tomorrow I have to go out to pay bills and buy pet food. But after that, I have to make room in my schedule to pick up things from my desk and more safely place my PC. I can't tempt my good luck, maybe the next time I have a computer accident, things won't end as well as they did today. It's like they turned on an alarm button for me.

Vuelvo al trabajo, y aprovecho para hacer el post del día más temprano. Para mañana tengo que salir a pagar cuentas y comprar la comida de las mascotas. Pero, luego de eso, debo hacer espacio en el horario para recoger las cosas de mi escritorio y colocar de manera más segura mi PC. No puedo tentar mi buena suerte, puede que la próxima vez que tenga un accidente con la computadora, las cosas no terminen igual de bien que hoy. Es como que me encendieron un botón de alarma.
