Studies show that people tend to consume more calories on weekends due to larger portions and less mindful eating. People often eat different foods on weekends. At my home we cook something special to spent some quality time with the family members. My parents alwsys made sure to cook something special as far as Indian foods. They always make sure that we avoid eating junk and unwanted food. Yesterday, we had some home made delicies.

Weekends offer more time to cook complex meals, experiment with new recipes. This time my mom cooked something unique. She is a good cook, and yesterday she tried cooking lauki ka chila. In other words we can call it Bottle gourd pancake. It is a good recipe to eat with some chutneys or tomato ketchup. To cook this recipe, bottle gourd were crushed and mixed with wheat flour, the other items that goes with it includes Turmeric powder, Salt, green chilli, Coriander leaves and chopped onion. all the items were mixed to make a thick batter. It was then poured into the pan to bake in slow heat.
The way my mom was working was treat to watch. She has all the expertise in the world to make many delicies. After completing this pancake, she get into preparing some gujia.
Gujiyas are a popular Indian dessert of deep-fried dumplings with a sweet filling. These were quintessential part of Holi, however my Mom like to keep some for quick snacks at home. Weekend gives her enough time to prepare these recipes. It was a nice evening spent together at home, enjoying with these delicies.
