RE: Do you like your cold drinks with or without ice? (Mini comment contest # 8)

in Amazing Drinks7 days ago

THIS IS MY PARTICIPATION IN THE MINI CONTEST:

Hello @amazingdrinks!

How wonderful to discover this initiative, thanks to the kind invitation extended to me by @germanandradeg, for which I am extremely grateful!

Referring to the preference for consuming drinks with or without ice is a topic that may seem simple, but it goes beyond personal tastes or weather conditions to lead us to consider cultural patterns that many people adhere to, even without truly enjoying the drink itself, but consuming it one way or another simply to fit in with a social group.

In my case, while I like to learn about appropriate behavior in different environments, I don't sacrifice my enjoyment for it.

I like my beer very cold, regardless of whether it's summer or winter. As for rum, it's straight up, although sometimes I put a bottle in the refrigerator to chill it and drink it cold. The same goes for whiskey; sometimes I drink it straight up and other times on the rocks, depending on the brand and the alcohol content.

I prefer vodka or gin without ice. And wine, in its natural state, although, living in Cuba's warm climate, I've occasionally had a pre-chilled bottle, but never with ice.

Finally, with this image I'm sharing while sipping a sip of whiskey without ice, I invite my life partner @maiasun84 to join this exquisite initiative, but not before sending everyone a big hug.
Cheers!

Hi @roswelborges

I'm glad you like the initiative. Welcome to the mini-contest!

Your reflection on the factors that influence the decision to drink with or without ice is very interesting. It's true that cultural patterns and childhood memories shape this habit, which may seem simple, but it isn't, because it can tell a lot about a person.

Now, drinking a warm beer is like eating bad soup, so I agree with you: even when it's cold, beer should be cold.

Thank you for participating.

Cheers!
