Good evening to all my Hive friends!
There’s something truly heartwarming about enjoying a piece of milk toffee with a warm cup of tea. Rich in condensed milk, this beloved Sri Lankan sweet brings back memories of childhood collections and festive gatherings. Whether you prepare it for a special occasion or simply crave something sweet and satisfying, making milk toffee at home is both an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It's incredibly easy to make — and a great way to save time too!
So, let’s take a look at how to prepare this delightful treat.
Ingredients...
⭐️ Condensed Milk 550ml.
⭐️ 3 Tablespoon of magareen.
⭐️ 1 1/2 Cup of sugar.
⭐️ Drying grapes 25g.
⭐️ A pinch of salt.
The order of preparation.
First, take a pan and add the condensed milk into it. At the same time, add the sugar as well. Place the pan on the stove over low heat and keep stirring continuously.
Next, as the mixture thickens while being stirred continuously, add some drying (dried) grapes and a pinch of salt. Continue to mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
Next, add margarine to the same mixture and continue to stir well until it thickens completely.
Next, remove the mixture from the heat and spread it onto a flat tray. Before that, make sure to grease the tray evenly with margarine. Then, pour the mixture onto the tray and flatten it gently.
Finally, once it has cooled and set, cut it into pieces.
Once cooled and cut into neat squares, this creamy, melt-in-the-mouth milk toffee becomes the perfect companion to your afternoon tea. Its rich, comforting flavor and simple homemade charm make it a treat worth sharing. Enjoy it with loved ones or keep a little stash just for yourself—it’s a sweet taste of tradition in every bite.
