"Mntungwa let go of me! You are going to get us caught."

Nqubeko:do you know how I love it when you call me like that?
Mercy:do you want your wife to catch us?
Nqubeko:don't call her that.
Mercy:that's what she is.
Nqubeko:Thank you for this beautiful gift that you are giving me. Our boy will be happy.
Mercy:I love you. But it hurts that you belong to someone else.
Nqubeko:you know there's no love there. This marriage was arranged. And guess what? They are done building your house. You can move in at the end of this month. I want you to quit here. I don't want you to be a maid for the rest of your life and keep on running around for someone. I'm taking you back to school.

She smiles. When she got this job falling in love with her boss' son wasn't part of the plan. Worse thing is he is married and she's breaking another woman's home.

Nqubeko let go of her. He lifted her oversized top and kissed her belly. He couldn't wait to have a daughter with his lover. They were all excited to meet her in less than five months. They already have a son. He walked to the couch and opened his work bag. He took out two documents.

Nqubeko:you see this?

She took the document and looked at it. She gasped not believing it.

Nqubeko:I'm divorcing her. I've already signed. I want to give love a chance. I want this. You,our children. Us as a family.
Mercy:I love you so much babe.

He pecked her lips then took the second document.

Nqubeko:you see this? It's for our son. Just in case something happens to me. You three will be sorted. You see everything here? This house and everything in it. Even my shares at the company. They all belong to him. He will get everything when he turns 21.
Mercy:thank you so much.

When they first started it was just an affair. Then they grew close and developed feelings for each other and gave their relationship a chance. No one knows about it. They have decided to keep it a secret. Well, that was until Nqubeko decided that he is getting a divorce. That made Mercy happy. She was getting tired of being kept a secret.

Nqubeko:when you are done I will take you home.
Mercy:can you please spend the night with us? We miss you.
Nqubeko:okay. Finish working so we can leave.

She did all her work and knocked off before his wife could come back. She was also on time to fech her son from school. Nqubeko drove to Mamelodi, where Mercy stays. They first went to their son's school to fetch him.

When Njabulo walked out of the school gate and saw his father's car he started screaming. He held his backpack tightly and ran there. His dad was standing outside the car. He picked him up and span him around.

Njabulo:dad you fetched me! Are you coming to my swimming lessons tomorrow?
Njabulo:of course. You know I never miss a day. Get in.

He had a wide smile on his face. Every time his father fetched him from school it made him happy. He stood in between the two seats and kissed his mother.

Njabulo:mama,I passed. I want to show you my book.
Mercy:I will see it at home. Right now my little champion deserves a treat.
Njabulo:did you get me something?
Mercy:of course! Here.

She gave him a burger and he smiled.

Mercy:you will have more at home.
Njabulo:thank you mama.

He sat down and started eating his burger. His father drove them home. He dropped his mother at her mother's place. She wanted to talk to her about something. It was only six houses away. When they got home Nqubeko took out the shopping bags and a bicycle and took them inside the house.

Mercy walked in as Njabulo was fitting his clothes and walking around in them.

Njabulo:this one is for a baby girl.
Nqubeko:that's for your sister.

Mercy smiled. She couldn't believe that all of this was hers. Her man was finally going to get a divorce so they could be together without having to hide or feel guilty. She also thought about the fact that she was moving out of the shack soon and taking her mother with. Their days of sleeping in a shack and people laughing at them were over. And she thanked God for that. He made her cross paths with the man who was making all of that possible.

Njabulo:mom I love these clothes.
Nqubeko:tomorrow we are going out. Just the two of us.
Njabulo:I can't wait. Let me go and take my book so I can show you.
Mercy:take your clothes with.

Sthokozile came back from work and found no one at home. These are the times she wished she had a child with her husband. She'd have company now. They've been married for nine years but no child. She knew he didn't love her. It was just something that their parents planned. She thought that they were going to try and love each other. But that seemed impossible.

She always suspected that her husband was cheating. But she did nothing about it. But now she was tired. She had to try. Try to get to the bottom of her husband's affairs. So she got someone to follow them.

She got up and went to check on her laptop. She had cameras planted in the house to see if he ever brought his mistress around. She watched until she got where Nqubeko walked behind their maid and hugged her. She started sweating. She couldn't believe it. The same maid she told about her marital problems and asked for advice from? She betrayed her like this?

She played it and then saw where her husband pulled the top up. There it was. Her big belly. So he impregnated her and they already have another child? While they don't have any children together? Is she maybe the problem? Did he cheat to have kids?

She continued to listen. Her heart broke when he mentioned divorce and giving away all they worked hard for. Yes she found most of the things there but she also did her share. So she's just going to lose it all to a maid? They are even planning their lives together! He loves her. Such betrayal!

Her phone beeped. She looked at the pictures she just received. It confirmed everything. They were together. They looked happy. Happier than he's ever been with her. What does one do when a situation is like this? Just pack and leave or fight for your marriage? She threw her laptop against the wall screaming. She made a call.

Sthoko:kill them! All of them.
Voice:is that what you really want? Look. You two can talk. He can marry her as his second wife. We don't have to do this.
Sthoko:do what I asked you to do. I will pay you any amount you want. Do it.
Voice:consider it done.

Njabulo ran to his parents with his book. His mother opened it and smiled. Her son was smart. He was doing very well at school. And that just made her to feel very proud of him.

Nqubeko:what do you want to be when you grow up?
Njabulo:I want to be like you. I want to be a CEO.
Nqubeko:if you keep doing this well in school, you will be a CEO. You will achieve anything you want in life.
Njabulo:does a CEO earn a lot of money? I want to buy a big car like yours and move out of this shack. And stay in a big house like yours.

He always takes him to his house when his wife is not around.

Nqubeko:let me show you something.

He took out his phone and went to his gallery.

Nqubeko:this is our new home. We are moving out of here.
Njabulo:really?!
Nqubeko:yes!

He jumped on him and hugged him. He was happy and couldn't wait to move into the new house. This made his parents happy. To see their child happy just made them see that they were doing something right.

He got off and took his book back to the room. When he came back he found his parents on the floor with blood. He ran to his mother first and shook her. She was not moving or breathing. Same as his dad. He got out of the house and ran to his grandma's. They came back together.

When they walked in his grandmother almost fell.

Njabulo:gogo they are not moving!
Gogo:come here. I'm sorry.

She pulled him to her and hugged him. She cried when he started crying. Her daughter was gone. How was she going to take care of her grandson? Her daughter was the one taking care of them. So the responsibility of raising the little boy was left with her.

Five years later
