Mediterranean Feels on a Budget: A Colorful Lunch at Trogon’s Perch, Siargao

If you’ve been following along on my Siargao Diaries, you’ll remember I mentioned in Day 3’s post that our lunch at Trogon’s Perch was too good not to deserve its own feature, and girl, here it is. Because honestly? This spot served in all aspects: views, vibes, and very satisfying food, all with a Mediterranean twist that felt like a mini escape within the island escape.

Trogon’s Perch is perched (yes, pun intended!) high above the coastline of Siargao, offering a breathtaking view of the waves crashing far below and a whole ambiance that feels like you were suddenly transported to Santorini. Before you can enjoy all this beauty though, there’s a P500 entrance fee per person, but hold up, don’t scroll away just yet! That fee is consumable, so you get to put that full amount toward your food and drinks while also getting access to their gorgeous, well-designed amenities. Basically, it’s lunch with benefits.

Now, let’s get into the real story. While we were rocking our colorful candy summer fits, think bright, playful hues, flowy fabrics, and that main character energy. We came ready to slay the view and the vibe. Our outfits popped perfectly against the cool, whitewashed Mediterranean-style architecture and the endless blue backdrop of the ocean. Instant OOTD win.

Since we were rolling on a budget (because let’s be honest, a little budgetarian flair never hurt anyone), Demple and I decided to split a clubhouse sandwich and get two iced Spanish lattes, keeping our total bill around P850. Strategic and chic, right? And because we ordered as part of the group, our bill was included in the squad’s total, so our little order helped round things out. Smart, social, and savings-savvy.

Meanwhile, our friends some with their little families in tow, went all out, and we lived for their foodie spread. Here’s what was laid out on the table:

• Crispy Calamares – light, golden, and oh-so-satisfying
• Juicy Shrimp – full of flavor, sautéed to perfection
• Kinilaw na Isda – fresh and tangy, with that island kick
• Squid – tender, savory, and cooked just right; no rubbery surprises here!
• Fried Chicken Wings with Potato Chips – crispy wings paired with crunchy homemade-style chips; a comfort food dream
• Pork Adobo – the kind that tastes like home but served with island flair
• Garlic Mussels – buttery, garlicky, and rich in all the best ways

You’d think we were dining in some coastal resto in Greece, but nope, just a stylish corner of Siargao with a killer view and even better company.

And oh, that view! From the top of Trogon’s Perch, you get this uninterrupted vista of the ocean, with waves crashing gently in the distance like nature’s own background music. The breeze was cool and calming, the sun was warm but kind, and everything just felt right. It’s one of those moments you try to capture in photos, but the real thing is ten times better.

We laughed, we snapped pics, we sipped our lattes slowly like we were in a European café, and we soaked up every minute of that peaceful, picture-perfect afternoon.

So whether you’re planning a big barkada trip or a sweet little summer escape, make sure to add this to your Siargao bucket list. And don’t forget to pack your brightest, boldest outfit because this place deserves a full-on fashion moment.
