Greetings dear Hiveans!!! When you get a chance to pen down beautiful memories with Mother, what would you do??? Memories would just pour in like fresh water. Here is another wonderful memory for #memoirmonday by @ericvancewalton
Till today, anything that has been imparted to me remained as a beautiful memory within me. Me and my parent's, live in two different cities. They visit me once a while. And the most beautiful moment happens when me and my mother sit together for a few chit chat. I can see her evergreen happiness in her eyes, when she narrates her childhood memories of school, friends, functions, gatherings, playing in puddles etc .
My parent's on their visit to Singapore, at my sister's place
Life is beautiful when we have an understanding and lovely base ie., the family. But for the base to be strong, we need a strong pillar. And those pillar in short are our parents, especially mother, who gives the family the best.
Me and my mother while travelling
An introvert person who is not much connected with the outside world, finds happiness in we children. She was an educated woman, all praise to her brother, who wanted his sister to study and be placed in a good job.
Unfortunately, she couldn't complete her education as her marriage was finalized and her job remained just a dream. Educating woman those days, especially in a muslim community, was out of question. But against all odds she completed her pre degree level. She never took up a job, when job offers were pouring in, which she regrets even today.
With my sister and family. My mother watching over the surprise Birthday celebration by my sister, for my father. Moments they still miss
She reads a lot keeping herself updated with current news and simultaneously, giving us information when ever required. Moreover, she takes the cut outs of recent inventions and discoveries and anything related to general knowledge and pass it on to her grand children.
Good at hospitality, my mother was a good cook, though she knew only limited recipes. One of the most beautiful memory I remember is the serving of lime juice to a friend of mine, who hates lemon juice. This was during my high school years. As sunday being a holiday, few of my friends visited home. It was a sunny afternoon and as part of greetings, my mother served them lemon juice mixed with ginger, sugar and salt. The friend who hated lemon juice was forced to take after a lot of hesitation.
Iam in touch with her even today. Thanks to the social media. Most often, she reminds me of the lemon juice which was preparedbymy mother, was one of the sweetest. Today she serves the same to her family members. Infact, good food can never be resisted.
A person with lot of perseverance and patience, she never abstained herself from doing things that were difficult for her. My father being a Defense personnel my childhood was spent in Defence quarters. So anytime we can expect visitors home. The house and its surroundings, we had a small rose garden, was always kept spick and span, without any assistance. To be honest, the very entry into the home made anyone comfortable.
One of the memory which I can never forget was the day I came late from the University, due to heavy rain. Despite heavy rain, the roads were blocked causing traffic block in nook and corner of the whole city. Most of the buses were cancelled. My journey to and fro, from the University was nearly 2 hrs. This caused panic in me and I could understand the situation at home, especially my mother. After a real struggle, I reached home 3 hours past the scheduled time ie., at 9 p.m. That day I could read from my mother's face what she went through.
Childhood was a struggle. Father being the sole breadwinner of the family, educating we three siblings and home expenditure was not an easy task. Being a supportive person, my mother kept all her wishes aside to fulfill the basic needs of the family.
Never in the worst of my memory do I remember my mother raising her voice against we siblings for any mischeivous caused. She is always remembered as a person imparting positive vibes in us, even today.
These are just a part of memories I could retreive which I am happy to forward to #memoirmonday hosted by @ericvancewalton
