Wednesday Walk ended in a Chinese Restaurant

After a long morning in the hospital, I just wanted something hot, simple, and satisfying. So I headed straight to a Chinese restaurant.

I prefer eating rice from a bowl with chopsticks, so I asked for a bowl the moment I sat down.

The first dish was served on the table, still steaming.

Salt Pepper Fish Fillet. Hot, crisp, and exactly what I needed.

YUM !

Before I could take a second bite of the fish, the rice plate showed up.

Mabo Tofu with Rice, also piping hot and with a spicy kick.

I filled my bowl: rice at the bottom, a generous scoop of Mabo Tofu on top.

And a little extra Salt Pepper Fish Fillet. Simple, straightforward, satisfying.

I ate slowly, enjoyed every bite, and by the end, I was fully satiated. A good lunch after a long morning. It is nothing fancy, just food that hits the spot.

It's not very often that I eat out in restaurants. much more, alone. I always bring my lunch from home. But not that day!

It all looks quite delicious. Tofu isn't really my jam, but they make it look good. I don't think our Chinese restaurants are quite as fancy as that one either.

During the season of Lent, I eat more non-meat dishes. I would have loved their Salt Pepper Pork Ribs, !LOL
On Sunday, I think I'll cook me some pork ribs, Chinese style!

Looks similar to my favorite Restaurant choice done in a Seafood with tofu in black bean sauce HotPot style. I can almost taste it, again.

!LOL I had to learn how to use chopsticks as a must when I was little! Dad and Mom made sure of it... and I am so thankful to them.
When you develop a taste for tofu (which is tasteless, hehehe, I get the taste of the other ingredients), you will like tofu! Someday.
