Greetings, dear @drinklovers, happy Sunday! Once again, I wish you many reasons to celebrate and be happy. I recently shared two mango-based recipes, which turned out delicious, and today I'm bringing you a drink made with the peels of this fruit. So, I present to you my CREAMY MANGO WATER, a useful preparation since it uses the peels of this fruit, which are usually thrown away. Recientemente he compartido dos recetas a base de mango, las cuales han quedado deliciosas, y para hoy les traigo una bebida a base de las cáscaras de este fruto, así que les presento mi AGUA CREMOSA DE MANGO, una preparación de provecho, ya que se usan las cáscaras de esta fruta, las cuales generalmente se desechan. For this recipe, I used the peels from the mangoes I used in the mango jelly, as well as the water from cooking them. It's worth noting that in my area, this drink is called "Mango Carato", perhaps because of its creamy, thick texture. That said, let's get to the recipe!


Para esta receta he utilizado las cáscaras de los mangos que usé en la jalea de mango, así como el agua de cocción de los mismos. Cabe señalar que a esta bebida en la zona en que vivo le llaman “Carato de mango”, quizás por la textura cremosa, espesa de esta preparación. Dicho esto, ¡vamos a la receta!

THE RECIPE / LA RECETA


Time, ingredients and equipment

  • Preparation time: This drink is easy to prepare, as long as you have the mango peels already cooked and cooled, so it will be ready in 10 minutes.

  • The quantities can vary according to individual taste and availability.

  • Servings: Here I prepared approximately four liters of creamy mango water.

  • The peels of 25 bite-sized mangoes, which weigh approximately 1.5 kilos.

  • 1 liter of mango cooking water.

  • 1.5 liters of cold water.

  • Sweetener to taste. I used 200 grams of white sugar, 50 grams per liter.

  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.

  • Ice cubes to taste.

  • Plate, ladle, measuring cup, glass, bowl, blender, strainer, pitcher, etc.

Tiempo, ingredientes y equipo

  • Tiempo de preparación: Esta bebida es de fácil preparación, siempre y cuando tengas las cáscaras de mango ya cocidas y frías, así que en 10 minutos estará lista.

  • Las cantidades pueden variar de acuerdo al gusto y a la disponibilidad de cada quien.

  • Raciones: Aquí preparé cuatro litros de agua cremosa de mango, aproximadamente.

  • Las cáscaras de 25 mangos de bocado, cuyo peso es de aproximadamente un kilo y medio.

  • 1 litro de agua de cocción de mango.

  • 1 ½ litro de agua fría.

  • Endulzante al gusto. Yo usé 200 gramos de azúcar blanca, 50 gramos por cada litro.

  • 1 cucharada de vainilla.

  • Cubos de hielo al gusto.

  • Plato, cucharón, taza medidora, vaso, bol, licuadora, colador, jarra, etc.

THE PROCEDURE / EL PROCESO


Blend the mango peels with the water gradually (in batches)

Licuar las cáscaras de mango junto con las aguas, de forma progresiva (por tandas).

Each time the peels liquefy, strain the mixture. Once this process is complete, add the vanilla and sugar and mix well until the preparation is homogeneous. Any scraps left in the strainer can go to the compost bin.

Cada vez que se van licuando las cáscaras, colar la mezcla. Finalizado este proceso, añadir la vainilla, el azúcar y mezclar bien hasta homogeneizar la preparación. Los restos que queden en el colador, pueden ir al compostero.

Once the ingredients are well blended, you'll have a very creamy drink with a smooth texture, a delicious mango aroma, a beautiful yellow-green color, and a wonderful flavor. You can serve it with ice cubes, as I've done here, although it's tastier when it's very cold, almost frozen.

Ya estando bien mezclados los ingredientes, obtendrás una bebida muy cremosa de textura suave, un delicioso aroma a mango, un hermoso color entre amaillo t verde, y un sabor estupendo. Puedes servirla con cubos de hielo, tal como he hecho aquí, aunque es más sabrosa cuando se enfría muy bien, casi a punto de congelación.

The CREAMY MANGO WATER is ready! This drink is very filling, delicious, and nutritious—a great way to make the most of mangoes. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Remember to always serve it very cold. Cheers!
