Greetings, now ending this new Tuesday, the day of the best musical initiative in all of Hive: Three Tune Tuesday, from my friend @ablaze, which has already reached its 159th edition. Today I have returned with some of the music that I like the most, that of the 1980s, and I have brought an emblematic British progressive rock band, which is still active, even though it has undergone important changes in its line-up, and it is the stupendous MARILLION.
I heard the band Marillion in the 80's, as always, on the radio stations in my city at that time, and although I liked it, it was music that I reserved and kept like a good wine, to age it and enjoy it later, decades later. , more precisely in the early 2000s until today. I remember that at that time, (in the 80's), I had a high school friend who was crazy about Marillion, so their music was familiar to me, especially because he, like me, loved to collect records and cassettes and sometimes We would leave school and go to his house, which was nearby, to listen to records. However, it was some time later, as an adult, that I was able to enjoy the beautiful music of this band, and for this I must thank in part, another friend of this time, who lives here, where I live right now. And he is also a die-hard Marillion fan. It could be said that both he and I are a kind of Martians or green dogs in this place, hahahahaha, because almost no one knows this music around here. That being said, let's look at my #ttt songs today.
Ahora vamos con mis canciones / Now let's go with my songs
To open my trilogy today, I have brought you the beautiful “Kayleigh”. This song is A JEWEL, there is no other definition for it, from the beautiful lyrics, which reflect those loves of youth, school, university, and that whole range of feelings that we experience when we are young and think that love is forever , (but in the end it is not like that), to the beautiful harmony and the way the instruments sound, and obviously Fish's voice, (which has always seemed a lot like Phill Collins to me, although I think Fish's is better) . This is a song that really makes me fly back in time and remember happy moments. Here I share the beautiful video.
I continue with another song from the time when Fish was still the vocalist of Marillion, and this is “Sugar mice”, a sad song, but beautiful, it is one of those songs that can break your soul, especially when you are going through a separation, a divorce. The lyrics are so beautiful and heartbreaking, and the guitar, the drums combine perfectly, and Fish's voice is so expressive, so beautiful, conveying the full range of feelings that a spite song like this can generate. The video is also very interesting, so I share it with you, and in this case also subtitles in Spanish, and additionally, I leave you another video of a live performance. I hope you can appreciate it.
To finish my #ttt today, I have brought a post-Fish song, already in the era in which Steve Hogarth is the vocalist of Marillion, and I think it is the song that I like the most by them with that vocalist, and I am talking to you from “Beautifull”, which seems to me to be delicately beautiful, even though its lyrics make us think about the transience of life and the relativity of beauty in the world. The music is beautiful, and Hogarth's voice sounds really good on this song, and while he doesn't have the same power as Fish, I really like how he interprets this melody. It's one of those songs that stays in your head and you can hum it all day, I really like it a lot. Here I share the video, enjoy it!
And today I want to leave you a BONUS TRACK, a gift for the end, and it is the wonderful “Cover my eyes”, which is from Hogarth's time, and I say that this song is like that, wonderful, because the music and Hogarth's voice, of course, because although the lyrics are nothing to write home about, no one can deny that the music is exceptional, and that he interprets it really well. Here I share the video of a live performance of the band, in 2009 in Holland, that performance is really good.
