Shortform seems to be Hive nowadays.

Is it possible to spend time and grow on Hive by simply being 'active' in shortform?

No more writing long content, simply creating shorts, replying and building quick connections?

I think they are both important. But short form seems to be where the conversation happens most. I find it easier to engage with short form.

Yes, I've noticed a lot more people seem to engage via shortform; I guess it's easier to reply to a couple of sentences than to a full blog. I'm enjoying the variety of content I can view through the Slothbuzz site!

yup yup. best thing about this blockchain is there are so many ways to consume and engage with content

almost too many, one could argue! I'm not sure if it's a help or a hindrance to be honest.

This is like monetized X with stake replacing the monthly fee. TBH, I thought X monetization was immitating Hive when it was proposed.

I'm surprised other social media haven't introduced monetisation; however, when they're earning enough from selling your data and ad space, why would they share profits? Hive needs to find enough traction to make these stakes and earnings worthwhile!

I think facebook is giving a tiny bit to content producers that meet their evolving criteria, based on interaction. I guess they are exploring its viability. The model here stands out because that is already baked in.

I haven't used Facebook in about 10 years, no idea what's happening over there. I can see why they would try to emulate X (or Hive LOL), though. X is the biggest social media platform right now.
