Yummy Salmon Salad Bowl and Mille Crepe Cake for Midnight Snack!

It's the end of the month and the weekend
I'ma spend this check, everything on me, yeah

Ooppss! Finally, we're on the last day of January and it's a happy weekend as well for me because I finally got to purchase the item I've been eyeing on for quite some time now. Price of the item is not cheap so let me sing Lisa's song. Lol. Oh, lately I've been listening to KPop again including Blackpink. Guess I'm going back on my pre-Jpop/Jrock era!

Anyway, I'm going to share some good foods I had back when I went to watch a show last year—a bowl of salad and mille crepe cake!

Among my biggest fear when traveling is starving. Knowing that the concert I'm attending ends quite late at night, malls will be closed by the time I get out of the coliseum. There are some 24/7 stores in the area but there are certain foods that I wanted to try so I bought them in the afternoon and secured it in my hotel room before going to the concert venue.

Finding the stores felt easy that I was amazed with my gut feeling. I think I had a built-in gps on my whole trip. Lol.

I'd be eating food late at night so I opted for something healthy. A salad bowl from SaladStop! The name of the bowl is Kokoro.

What's funny is that my mind went blank and forgot the name of the bowl when I reached the counter. I told the crew, "the bowl with salmon." The crew mentioned a name and I just said, "Yeah, that one!" Haha.

They also have these chia pudding and muesli on the corner which the crew offered when I was about to pay. I refused it because I know I can no longer consume it even on the next day.

I headed to the next store on my list, Paper Moon. You know, I am very curious of the mille crepe especially its texture. How does it taste? Why do a lot of people say it's good? I only bought a slice to try, because a slice of it was expensive. It's almost the price of a whole cake of a local bakery.

I didn't expect the containers and paper bags to be bulky. I was quite embarrassed passing by the coliseum carrying these. Lol.

So after the concert, I returned to the hotel and rested for maybe an hour before opening my foods.

I particularly chose the Kokoro bowl because of the salmon and edamame. I don't want to miss the omega-3s and I think this bowl will help me keep healthy during my trip. I'm also happy that the spinach were very fresh.

Also, I was surprised and curious with those slices of yellow stuff. It a has a little citrus taste but it's not pineapple nor orange. It's also crunchy. I only found out lately that those were pickled radish. I didn't know radish can taste that good! I only know it's used for making sinigang!

Of course, the salad came with a dressing. It was sesame lime. I can't remember how it exactly tastes but it complemented well with the salad. I believe the dressing is very important in making the salad delicious. Other ingredients included in the bowl were red and white cabbage, quinoa, sweet corn, boiled egg, mixed seeds, furikake, and alfalfa sprouts. I also found out the a bowl of this salad has 659 calories. Do you count calories? Because I don't. Lol. If it's good, I eat it with the amount that I want.

Next is the mille crepe cake. This one I got was Paper Moon's Mango Mascarpone Mille Crepe. It's layers of crepe with mascarpone and slices of mango in each layer.

What I like about this mille crepe is the mild sweetness. The taste isn't like the chiffon cakes and has its own kind of delicious taste. The texture is also interesting because of its thin layers of crepe. It feels light when eating it but surprisingly makes you feel full.

Actually, I think this is my first time eating mascarpone and I can't properly and specifically describe it. But the entire slice of mille crepe was good. I'd like to try the other flavors next time.

I'm happy to finally try these foods. I must say the salad was so worth it! The serving might look few on the photos but trust me it's more than enough to fill your stomach. I could hardly finish the entire bowl. On the other hand, the mille crepe was also good to try. I would recommend it for those who really want a dessert with little sweetness.

Trying foods and going to restaurants and cafes that is non-existent in my province is always part of my itenerary when visiting new places. It feels like my trip wouldn't be complete without trying new foods.

Happy weekend!
