Indonesian Fried Rice

How's Going 😊

Beautiful morning here. Always gives me a boost of happiness whenever it's sunny outside. I feel so alive 🤩

I don't remember if I ever mentioned that I volunteered every Saturday at our local library for 4 years, and on my last year I was a board member as well. Anyhoo. I resigned last year closer to my big surgery as I knew I wouldn't be active at all during recovery. Now that I am well enough to do stuff, I am back volunteering, however it won't be at the library. When I went in and out of the hospital, I saw a sign, that they are always looking for volunteers. I signed up 😁 I will start this end of the month. Pretty excited. New place, new face.

In 2019, I did ask whether there were opportunities to volunteer at the birthing center, as back in Montreal, we could volunteer for newborn care. As my boys getting older, I wanted to do it here, but nope, I was told they didn't have such volunteering. So I volunteered at library instead.

Anyhoo. I won't be volunteering at the birthing center though, just at the hospital general areas, such as visitor center, patient care, gift shop and whatnot 😊

Back to recipe sharing!

Add in sliced sweet peppers, saute for 1-2 minutes

Add in the rice (day old is the best but mine was just cooked 😁), stir to combine

Season with chicken bouillon powder, Sriracha sauce, ketchup, Indonesian sweet soy sauce (kecap), to taste

Stir in nuggets, bakso, and wieners

Lastly, add in leafy greens, stir to combine and ready to be served

Enjoy!

Sort:

We usually do nasi goreng with fresh rice as well as we never have enough old rice x_x

for that to work we would need a much bigger rice cooker so we could make twice as much rice

Same here 😁

Heeey, long time no visit. Do you cook the nuggets, bakso, and wieners beforehand or just add them in as is?
