While we usually eat near the town square, this time we had a new destination: young goat satay. Do you know what young goat is called? CEMPE.
For some reason, there are a lot of restaurants in our city selling this cempe satay. The cempe meat is delicious, sweet, and tender, so it's no wonder it's so popular.
The restaurant is only two kilometers from home, so I decided to ride my motorbike. The sky was already getting a bit cloudy, so I had to hurry.
Upon arrival, the waiter handed me the menu, and I immediately ordered portions for everyone in the family. The drinks, of course, varied according to taste: My mother ordered hot sweet tea, my brother and sister-in-law ordered sweet iced tea, and Rendra also ordered fresh orange juice.
While waiting for our orders, I looked around and saw many paintings or murals lining the walls of the restaurant. The largest was a mural depicting a realistic, humanistic landscape. On the other side, there were depictions of wayang (wayang) characters with quotes of wisdom. Hahaha… the customers were about to eat satay goat with wise advice.
In about fifteen minutes, all our orders arrived beautifully on the table. The sight of the young goat meat was truly captivating. The grilled meat was placed on a hot plate to maintain its heat.
The perfect sauce for satay is soy sauce. This is a very simple sauce: all the ingredients are simply sliced, like shallots, tomatoes, and chilies. But for the chilies, some people usually choose to grind them to bring out the spiciness. And of course, soy sauce.
The chili sauce is served on a separate plate, and customers can add more if they run out.
Another dish I ordered was beef in sour soup. I found it really delicious. You know that very sour starfruit dish? Yep... the sour sauce in this dish comes from starfruit. It also neutralizes the distinctive musty smell of the goat meat. And don't forget the delicious slices of spicy bird's eye chilies. So, this portion is a combination of: tender meat, clear broth with a strong broth, the spiciness of the chilies, and a fresh sourness.
After eating, we relaxed for a while while waiting for the rain to stop. It had rained heavily while we were eating, so we chatted while relaxing. That concludes our day with our family. Very enjoyable. Thank you for reading.
