Hello ASEAN Buddies...
Ayam Geprek is a very popular menu in Jakarta. It is a menu containing fried chicken that is pounded or pressed until it is not perfectly shaped. Or it could be just the chili sauce that is pounded, I have difficulty explaining it in English so just look at the shape.
This is my first time tasting Ayam Geprek sold at the FX Sudirman food court. At first I didn't want to order it. I wanted to order another menu, but unfortunately, that menu was sold out. I asked the cashier, what menu was recommended and still available? I didn't want to be disappointed by mentioning a menu that turned out to be sold out too so I finally decided to just ask.
The cashier recommended this Ayam Geprek. I actually don't really like spicy food, but because I was hungry and had no other choice, I ordered that menu. I can't not eat the chili sauce, right? Yeah, so this is my very tempting order.

This Ayam Geprek contains complete and full side dishes. In addition to chicken (I chose the upper thigh), there are also tofu, tempeh, and cucumber. Those are the mandatory side dishes for every Ayam Geprek. Sometimes I only order tofu as a side dish because I don't really like tempeh and cucumber. I prefer basil or celery. However, those two types of leaves are rarely served as side dishes because they are kinda pricey.
I enjoyed this menu while watching a softball game in the distance. Although it was not clear how many scores were scored, at least I saw them running around the field. This kind of atmosphere is very rare, isn't it? I'm glad I found the best spot for lunch near my house.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the geprek chili sauce. This is the geprek chili sauce. What I know about geprek chili sauce is that it should have a coarse texture. But this geprek chili sauce looks smooth in texture, I think they blend it, not grind it manually. Ah, even though I really like eating coarse-textured chili sauce with shallots that don't blend together. But, because I don't want to be spicy, I ignored the chili sauce. Do you like that kind of chili sauce?
Have you ever taste Indonesian menu like this before me? Tell me your opinion...
Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
