Happy Sunday readers.
This weekend passed swiftly. Friday after work we drove into Erie to pick up my new glasses purchased at the end of last year. They were ready to pick up weeks ago, but our schedules conflicted with the optometrist so I waited. We had to hurry after I was done with work to arrive before 6:00 p.m.
I elected to try bifocal contacts, too.
My optician took me aside to teach me what I needed to know to be able to insert, clean, and remove them successfully. I was able to get them in but I failed to remove them because my nails are long and ready to be cut. Thursday I will try again to insert and remove them.
Years ago, in my mid-forties, I attempted to try contacts. At that time they sold football-shaped contacts for patients with astigmatism. I inadvertently scratched my eye the first time I tried to wear them. I gave up and went back to wearing glasses immediately. The contacts manufactured currently are much more advanced and weighted. I hope that I can be successful in this trial. The educational meeting took about forty minutes. Since we decided I needed shorter fingernails to manage taking out the contacts, I will wait until after my nail appointment on Thursday to attempt to insert and remove them.
We ate dinner at the hibachi restaurant and had a nice time. We were seated next to two college girls. The conversations were interesting.
Saturday we attended a celebration of life for a dear family friend who died unexpectedly this month. This was an emotionally challenging wake and she died at the age of forty-nine leaving her twenty-one-year-old daughter behind. Her death was completely unexpected.
Today we attended Sunday School and church. It was a wonderful renewal after the sobering Saturday we experienced. I chatted with my friend who I'm accompanying to Hawaii at the end of February. We are planning on zip-lining and a helicopter ride over the waterfalls in Maui. To say I'm excited doesn't quite describe my feelings.
We grocery-shopped today, watched the evening church services and Jeff made some delicious chicken bites. Tomorrow is fast sneaking up on us. I hope to read a little before bed.
My AI Art I created this evening. It's titled "Hang in There"
