We kept bargaining with the melon seller for a long time but he did not agree. Then a person standing nearby said that if you go further, the melons are being sold even sweeter and cheaper. So we went further and I saw that there were many people selling melons. It seemed as if there was a melon market and different types of melons were being sold in this market. It is also a fact that each seller had different types of melons and each one claimed that his melons were the sweetest because the summer has intensified and the melon crops have been ready in every region and the melons of each region are coming to our village to be sold. Thus, there are different types of melons and all types are famous with regional names. The most famous melon is the melon of our region which we also call desi melon or local melon. It is made from local beech. Apart from this, China melon and the most famous melon is called Mankera melon. It is a region located near Bakhtar. This Mankera area is a sandy area and the melons of Mankera area are very famous in terms of sweetness in the whole of Punjab and there is no doubt that Mankera melons are the most famous melons. When I asked who was selling Mankera melons, there was no one selling Mankera melons there, but all the melons that everyone was selling were all varieties produced through grafting, but they were very sweet in sweetness.
I did not find any melons from the Munkara area, but the melons that were there were also very sweet. Similarly, I bought 10 kg of melons while walking and all of them were very sweet. At first, the shopkeeper refused. When he saw that there were a large number of buyers, he started giving away five kilos of melons at the rate of 400 rupees. He first gave me seven kilos of melons, and then when everyone had taken them, I bought another five kilos of melons from him.
