RE: Community Rules Update (2024) [Eng/Spn]

in Foodies Bee Hivelast year

Hello @foodiesunite. I do have a question about Number 3.

  1. Content made by minors is not allowed: We do not accept content presented by accounts in the name of minors, nor minors making recipes in posts by adult users. This implies immediate silence of the post.

I would like to know more about that. Did something happen?

I have 3 teenagers in the house. It is quite normal for them to be in the kitchen learning and helping. Especially since my partner @clairemobey has a disability and cannot stand for long times in the kitchen.

So for my food posts and my wife's food posts, we wouldn't go and specifically try to include or exclude the teenagers.

But now also, "no content created by minors." The definition of a minor in most countries is being between the ages under 18 or under 21 years old. Does that mean that a 16 year old making a post about baking cupcakes is not allowed?

Again, I am trying to understand the rules and why the rules are there because it is important that I teach the rules correctly to others when I on-board people.

Sort:

absolutely @foodiesunite. This would be a massive blow to my posts. My children are all 12 and up. Does that include them? @What do you consider "minors?" As a family, we cook and bake together and that is a huge part of my posts.

Looks like they don't give a flying fuck about your question considering there's no response so maybe you'll not be posting in this community with its retarded fucken rules. 🤔🤣

Yooooooh Bro Galen! You surprise me! This was like a year ago!

Yeah... I do not post much oh this community. I do once in a blue moon... I even take pictures for posts on this community and then... sort of forget about it because of the ire I needed to deal with.

Not just me, not just Claire, but other people I know too.

I realize that they MIGHT have some reason to apply certain rules and that there were people who were taking advantage of things... but it requires a bit of circumstantial judgment based on various parameters. Just applying the law can be limiting.

Hehe.

I had an issue with them, a couple of times. One was speaking up for someone else who's post was muted, but the second was when I did a food post and wanted to post it here in their community, but their rules are way too tight.

My wife is one of those women I would put up against professionals, but she is also one that told me 50 years ago that she does NOT want to be on camera, nor does she desire to have a Hive account and the photos are on my phone.

So I figured as far as their community, they were SOL and were the ones who lost out. I managed to get my post done and made a halfway decent amount of both rewards and readers on, which makes me very content.

At least... with Hive... if we don't like it, we can make our own thing...

That and / or go to another community, which is what I did, and did good as well. We manage a couple of other communities, well, where I am does; one is the Hive @memorialforest that we built for @beeber who, sadly, passed away in December, so we keep it up, and the Ladies of Hive community run by @silversaver888 and @thekittygirl. They graciously allow me to work with both of them.

Awww no! I didn't know that @beeber had passed away! 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Yes, December 23rd, we all felt a major loss in all fronts.
She made a lot of things a lot easier and more fun on Hive and I suspect with that personality, in real life as well.
If you go to our Hive @memorialforest community https://peakd.com/c/hive-152367/created, there are 3 tribute posts: @reiseamateur, @Melinda010100, and @thekittygirl, written up honoring her.
This is part of the reason we keep this community up, even though not many Hiveans know about it, as far as I know, it's the only one like it on Hive.

Thank you so much. I will check it out

Fucktards.

I am guessing that you also experienced their bullshit?

Nope, not me. I happened across another post recently that was downvoted and muted and then a second and went over for a look. The rules are nuts...have to do three photos oneself on one's post for new to the community posters, no minors and so on.

Seems like it's run by a bunch of fuck wits. Makes me laugh really.
