In this edition, I am heading out in the wild to discover a new (to me) craft brewery and enjoy my own Beer Advent Calendar pint.

The pint of the week is generally out on the town or in a social setting with friends. Every now and then, they are shared with friends while visiting a craft brewery! As is the case here where we are having lunch at 555 Brewing Company in Picton Ontario. I hadn't even heard of it before this day and pleased to enjoy a fantastic West Coast IPA before taking home a couple for the fridge.
Here is the tap list in case you were curious. Something for everyone and a nice selection for a nice small town brewery.

Beer Exchange Beer
My favourite advent calendar is made up of 24 individually wrapped and numbered craft beers from across the country. I spent most of the month enjoying a surprise per day. Lagers and cream ales, stouts and different styles are great for discovery but left my IPA obsession a little flat. That is until Beer 13!
Wave Maker
13 was my number so you know this is gonna be an hoppy! I actually skipped a couple days to get to it because I was just in the mood for an IPA and the next keg of draft was still brewing. The fine folks at Wave Maker Brewing actually wrapped these for me so I wouldn't have to before submitting it for the exchange.

No Control IPA
I love the No Control IPA design with its colourful & light heartedness with the punk zombie. Listed as a New Age IPA, I probably would have picked at least 1 up because of the cool can.
The beer itself is much clearer than a Hazy east coast and a little yellow for a west coast. Citra hops are expected but centennial are definitely not what you might expect from an IPA. Not bitter or malty enough to be west coast and too clear for east, it is a neat balance of them both that made for an enjoyable beer. Would definitely buy again.

You can see where it lives in my wall of shame that will be heading back to the recycler this week.

#BEERSaturday!

Doesn't she know the care it takes to return home with spoils from brewery tours to extend the enjoyment?
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-444 Cheers to holiday beers!
