Sometimes you need to think things through, breaking the problem down to its atomic level.
But the longer this question lingers in your head, the more it begins to haunt you.
I've noticed that if I'm engrossed in chess and, for example, am intensively studying metal forging, I'll dream of chess pieces, where instead of chess pieces, forged metal objects and mechanisms are moving across the board, like those used for cold forging (lol).
When this happens, I realize I need to take a break and refocus my attention on something else, something that can calm my thoughts.
For example, drivers who sit behind the wheel for long periods and their vision is strained are advised to occasionally look toward green grass; the eyes relax because of the green color.
And sometimes, to distract yourself from something, you can look at flowers in calm tones, they are calm and thoughts turn soft purple lol.
Purple is called the color of nobility, and nobility doesn't worry about things or burden themselves with deep thoughts. LOL. Their servants do it all for them.

So, even if just for a moment, you can shift your worries to the flowers, let them doze off, while we admire their beauty and think about nothing else.
Yes, if you don't have purple flowers, you can probably look at purple leaves :)
