Everything sort of looked Blueish-Turquoise here at Barrier Lake, Kananaskis. This was day two of my early September hiking experience. Weather was decent enough, although there was a hint of smoke in the air. No problem. Over the years, one gets used to the occasional smell of smoke, as the forest fire activity seems to have increased over the last decade or so. Sign of the times maybe. Anyways onward and upward to the Prairie view lookout. This here hike is a popular one, and because it’s just off the trans Canada highway, it is also easy to access. Which makes it busy, parking can be an issue. The key is to come early in the morning, which I did not do unfortunately. Will need to remember for next time!
