Hello Hello Silver Bloggers and everyone else hello!
I was looking through some posts recently and decided that I would join in the fun!
42 and food ~ How appropriate!
Before I get my mouth drooling we need to get the formalities out of the way for this to become clear....
I thought it was about time that I joined in again for the Memoir Monday initiative that was created by @ericvancewalton
You can catch his original post here or the prompt for this Memoir Monday #42 (12/23-12/29) - What are your favorite dishes—either to cook or to eat?) -
The number of this edition is 42 ...
42 ... If you know, you know!
Food could well be my Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything
First things first ...
I am an omnivore, I love life, I love exploring and I love trying new things, throw that together with the fact that I have been to 69 countries and had local delicacies or staple foods in each of them and I wonder what ...
French gastronome Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin was one hundred percent correct when he said, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are.”

... would tell me I am?
I love to cook and I love to eat.
When I go out to eat I tend to eat what I would not cook at home.
I love seafood and will often order shellfish if I am out. Clams, mussels, lobster that sort of thing.
I also cook from what I see on offer at the shop when I am there...
For example
Sauteed duck breast orange salad with walnuts and fresh garden peas.
From the age of 10 I went to boarding school for 12 weeks at a time. The food was utter shite and I learnt to cook.
It was my first time making money for myself.
In our house we had guys upto the age of 17 who would forever be smuggling girls in.
I soon learnt how to whip up scrambled eggs on avocado with smoked salmon.
Mrs Evans our house mistress would even comparing recipes with me at age 12!
But it was my way to deal with life...
Just fluffing do it ... no regrets
Food in nature or natural food
If you know me then you know I love going out to the parks or beach for walks, feeding the animals and taking photographs.
Of course you can't beat a home made sandwich whilst out enjoying nature!
Baby food or comfort food
I read an interesting entry today from @nancybriti1 Memoir Monday: What are your favorite dishes—either to cook or to eat? where she talked about her moods when cooking and if sad it can have devastating effects... Well I don't ruin my cooking but I will have comfort food or as I call it baby food!
You know nothing fancy, just want to be babied!
That actually is often a Monday night dinner. Can you see amongst the sausages there is a flat one under the egg. In Scotland we call the cylinder type sausages link sausages as they come in links ir they used to! The flat sausage we call Lorne sausage, the black thing in the middle is black pudding and just delicious! Many places have their own version of blood pudding...
Talking of links, every April Kirkcaldy has the oldest European street market and it is the Links market, and we go there for this foot long hot dog.
This is my idea of fast food not that McDonalds nonsense!
I prefer to make my own cheeseburgers
I like to eat healthy too and make and eat salads of course
Mrs T did teach me how to make Pinto beans overnight in a slow cooker and that is her favourite food, you can have them n so mant ways!
Tengo the chocaholic
I love chocolate but not hot chocolate. I love biscuits but not into that many desserts apart from cakes like chocolate and red velvet cake.
So my desserts are very rare in the house, maybe a raspberry trifle but eating out it would be something like ...
Yes I ate the lot!
Thanks for visiting and Merry Christmas!
PS Don't eat too much!
