Homemade Pizza Day; White Serbiana & Classic Style 🍕

in Foodies Bee Hive17 hours ago

Hello to everyone! 👋 This is officially my first “proper” post here and I couldn’t be happier that it’s about one of my favorite things to make (and eat): homemade pizza. I truly love to cook, but I’ll admit it... sometimes I’m just lazy. There are weeks when I don’t cook anything special at all, except for quick breakfasts like eggs or something fast and simple. But when the mood hits… oh, then I go all in! This time, I made three big homemade pizzas, two white ones with sour cream, domestic Serbian style bacon, and eggs, and one classic red version with tomato, salami, cheese and lots of oregano.

🥣 Making the dough (I did a thin crust version) ↓

For three baking trays (mine are 34×44 cm) here’s the exact dough recipe I used:

840 g all-purpose white flour

500 ml lukewarm water

18 g salt

10 g dry yeast (instant)

1 teaspoon of sugar

2 tablespoons of olive oil

Method:

In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add dry yeast, sugar, oil, then pour in lukewarm water and let it sit and ferment for a bit. Stir everything together, then knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let it rise for about 1–1.5 hours, covered.

Once it’s doubled in size, divide the dough into three equal parts, each piece makes one thin pizza. Or if you prefer a slightly thicker crust, make two pizzas instead of three... believe me you can’t go wrong with that! ✅

The dough turned out perfectly soft and elastic, with a thin crispy bottom after baking. Yummy!

White Serbiana

For one tray, here’s exactly what I used:

~ 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

~ ¼ of a large onion, finely chopped

~ 4 full tablespoons of sour cream

~ salt and pepper to taste

~ 2 smaller pieces of homemade bacon, lightly fried and drained of all fat (so the pizza doesn’t turn greasy)

~ 2 whole eggs, cracked on top before baking

~ grated cheese (I used kačkavalj, but any melty cheese works great)

I mixed the sour cream with garlic, onion, salt and pepper and spread it evenly over the rolled out dough. Then I added the crispy bacon pieces and baked it for a few minutes just until it started to set a bit. Then came the best part: I added two whole eggs on top, sprinkled the cheese generously, and baked until the eggs were just set and the edges golden.

Everyone loved it! We couldn’t even wait for it to cool down, we ate it hot, right out of the oven. 😋 Then I made the second white pizza the same way, using the exact same ingredients and steps... and it disappeared just as fast!

Oh, and yes… I cried a whole round while chopping the onion because I leaned way too close trying to take a photo! But hey, anything for Hive! ❤️

The Classic Pizza

For the third pizza, I switched to a red classic base. I used:

~ thick tomato sauce

~ a bit of spicy ketchup

~ slices of Alpine salami

~ 2 beaten eggs (mixed into the topping)

~ grated "kačkavalj" cheese

~ lots and lots of oregano

~ and ofc 2 whole eggs on top again (because we all love it)

And here you can see how both the white and the classic red one turned out golden, bubbly, and honestly too good to wait for a proper photo shoot. I tried ma best to snap a few quick pictures before my family attacked the trays, which explains my funny posing with a full plate and that slightly rushed smile. Let’s just say the pizzas were way more photogenic than I was at that moment! 😅

The food looked great, tasted even better, and that’s what really matters, right? Next time I’ll try to take pictures before everyone starts circling the oven like hungry wolves… maybe. xD

Thank you all so much for reading and if you try this recipe, tag me so I can see your version! 👩‍🍳

I've never made my own pizza before, even though I bake bread quite often. Maybe I will try it sometime and be creative with the toppings, yours looks so good!

I am glad you like it. 🥰 Well, maybe it is better that way, not preparing pizzas often, cause they are enemies to our kilograms. 🙉

Dolazim da probam pizzu sa slaninom. Hvala za ideju 🤤

Naravnooo, vi Vrščani ste uvek dobrodošlii. 🤗

It's been a long time since I made homemade pizza... but in the past (a very distant past, actually), we used to make it. The dough was very similar to yours, but I have never made it with eggs. (obviously, as I didn't have this recipe 😉) With bacon, it looks really delicious!! 👍

I cried a whole round while chopping the onion

This sounds familiar 😂

Thank youuu! 😄 Yes, those onions got me good this time, but it was totally worth it for that flavor (and the photos)! xD
And for whole eggs, if you don’t want it to have too much of a baked taste add a bit of olive oil on top... or even over the whole pizza before baking, to make it juicier. I usually do that, but I forgot yesterday. 😅

Wow! I've never had pizzas with sour cream or oregano.
From what you're showing us, they look delicious!
Congratulations on deciding to make them!
Enjoy your meal!

Thank youuu. You should try to make it dis way, if you love garlic and onions, you'll just adore it. 🤤😍

Woohoo! Sending you the same amount of ♥️ and happinessssss
