Hi, Foodies Beehive! Let me bring you to Cebu, Philippines, and try all the Cebuano delicacies.
SUTUKIL is a derivation or an abbreviation of three Cebuano words. These are:
SU - sugba is to grill
TU - tuwa is to stew
KIL - kilaw is to cook raw with vinegar
Fresh Seafood you can choose from
Cebu is abundant with fish and other sea life creatures so SUTUKIL is an all-year-round experience. We went to MANNA Su Tu Kil near the Mactan Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City. This trip happened in 2012.
For fresh seafood you can choose from: different kinds of fish, shrimp, and squids.
Living lobsters
A huge lobster
The Restaurant
Before you go to the seats, here are the fresh sea life creatures you can choose from. For the fish, you can ask them to grill it, stew it with soup, ceviche style/cook it with vinegar, or cook it with sweet and sour sauce.
It's time to choose our table before it fills up with many people.
The ambiance was really nice.
A man serenaded us with his musical instrument, I forgot the name, uhm yeah, it's called a HARP.
This man entertained us and I forgot how many minutes we waited. Maybe, 30 minutes.
Our Fresh Seafood Lunch Meal
Huge fish with sweet and sour sauce. You can see some pineapple bits added to sweeten the sauce. It was really good.
Fried squids with sweet and sour sauce. Oh my, this is so delicious.
Garlic buttered shrimp, miam, miam!
We were a group of people so we bought 2 sets of orders for each plate. We were more than 6 people for sure.
LOL, just writing this, it makes me hungry and I miss my SUTUKIL food trip in Cebu, Philippines. Hehehe!
