Grilled Flavor: Meat Intertwined in Migo - Lara [En-Es]

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to enjoy a barbecue at Migo. Migo is one of the most well-known countryside restaurants in the state of Lara. I ate at the branch located on Troncal 7, at the end of Florencio Jiménez Avenue, specifically on the road to Quíbor.

As men, we have a soft spot for grilled meat, especially for quality cuts. It’s what satisfies the most—and tastes the best.

I was accompanied by my brother. We decided to order a small grill platter for two and an additional 400 grams of grilled marbled beef. The waiter was very kind. We chose to eat there because it’s affordable and the food is high quality. Also, we were starving after riding the motorcycle all day.

I noticed the restaurant was quite crowded, likely because it was the weekend. My brother and I weren’t sure what to choose from the menu at first, but we asked the waiter for a recommendation since we wanted to eat a lot of meat.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant before, so I already knew what to expect and what to order. When it comes to the grill platter, it’s essential to order extra meat due to the large number of side dishes it includes.

We waited about 15 minutes for our order. It felt like a long time since the waiter took our order right away. I had to ask him why it was taking so long, and he told me it was about to come out.

The waiter first brought the sauces for the grilled meat, along with the utensils, plates, and a pitcher of "panela" juice (a traditional Venezuelan drink made from toasted sugarcane). I really liked the presentation of the sauces.

Finally, the waiter brought the grill platter and the plate of marbled beef. One thing I didn’t like was that the marbled beef plate had some smudges on the rim. I had to clean the edges with a napkin myself.

As for the grill platter, everything looked perfect. My brother was the first to comment that it was way too much food for just the two of us. I agreed with him—it really was a lot—but we decided to relax and enjoy it at our own pace.

I must say, the flavor of the marbled grilled beef was amazing. The meat was tender and cooked medium. I loved the taste, and my brother agreed—it was definitely the highlight. As I said before, grilled beef is a man’s weakness.

On the other hand, the meat from the grill platter was a bit tough. It tasted good, but it didn’t seem very fresh. In the end, the 400 grams of marbled beef clearly stood out as the best.

I found it odd that there was no chicken or pork on the grill platter. I’ve had Migo’s platters before, and they usually include those meats. I didn’t ask the waiter why—honestly, I wasn’t that interested. My peace of mind matters more.

The Venezuelan cachapa included in the platter was delicious, as were the fried yuca pieces. The grill platter looked very appetizing as well. One issue we had was when asking for the check—the waiter disappeared. We asked another server to bring it and to pack the leftovers, but he ignored us.

We waited about 15 minutes until we told a different waiter, who was much more polite and attentive. Just as I was about to pay, the original waiter returned to hand me the bill—I noticed he had been taking a break. I didn’t think it was right for another server to pull him away from his break just to handle the bill and packaging. Thankfully, the other employee took care of everything politely.

The bill came to $16 (or HBD), which wasn’t expensive considering the amount of food we enjoyed. I ordered an extra cachapa to go, which brought the total to $19. It was a pleasant meal—affordable, with a few notable details. Migo remains one of the best dining options in the state of Lara.

Específicamente, vía a Quíbor.

Thank you for this. Night to write and talk about grilling. Every man's weakness, a man like me hahahahahaha.

Hey @neruel you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘

Whoa, those meats 🤤, it's a feast of meat ha. I'm not sure if I can just eat just a pure meat, maybe I can m, but just a few, but i'll for sure crave for rice to pair with it 🤔. I think grilled meat is the best with rice ✨🤤. Anyways, y'all enjoy it a lot ha, and for the price I think its really just right. How cool it is you have that kind of restaurant in there that you can visit if you crave for it ✨

The rice would be a good idea as long as it is a Japanese dumpling. Stuffed with some sauce inside. I think it's better with garlic bread, hahahahaha. The price is modest, I like this place because of the comfort and the products. Some details, but nothing out of this world.

Excelente parrillada y acompañada de esas cachapas, mejor aun

Una deliciosa parrilla y carne. La cachapa deliciosa 😋

wow, mouth-watering, the meat looks amazing, I would like to try it! Thanks for sharing.

Very good food, some details, but nothing out of this world.
