Hello food Lover”s! How was your day? Hi to all my friends here on Hive! Have you heard the word PARESAN? In English that means to pair. We Filipinos loves to eat of dishes that are best to serve as a Pair, it seems if only one of them is on your plate there is something missing. Let me share with you all the Filipinos best pair of dishes and that is The Lumpiang Shanghai (Spring Roll) and Bam-e a pancit noodle.

On every Filipino occasion Lumpiang Shanghai Also Known as (Spring Roll) and Bam-E pancit noodle are a pair of best served together and eaten together. We Filipinos love to pair dishes and foods and this is the best Pair ever.This pair can be eaten as a snack or a dishes. To have these dishes, let's cook our Lumpiang Shanghai

  LUMPIANG SHANGHAI OR (Spring Roll) Recipe

Ingredients
500 grams of Ground Pork lean meat
2 pcs of two medium Carrots
60 pcs of Lumpia wrapper
1 sachet of Magic Sarap seasoning
5 cloves of Garlic
1 small Green BELL Pepper
Half teaspoon of ground black pepper
Half teaspoon of salt
1 medium of Onion
250 grams of Cabbage
1 medium egg

PROCEDURE
*Wash the ground pork in a strainer to drain excess water.

*Wash the garlic,onion,bell pepper
*Cut or minced the onion, garlic and the Red bell Pepper.

*Wash the cabbage and cut into dice.

*Wash the Carrots, remove the skin and grate it.

*In a mixing bowl add the ground pork,grated carrots,cabbage,onion,garlic,bell pepper,seasoning, salt,ground black pepper, and egg.

*Combine all the ingredients well.

*separate the Lumpia wrappers.

  • Now our FAMOUS lumpiang shanghai is ready to wrap
  • Get desired amount of the mixture and wrap it into the wrapper.

  • Add oil in a pan for frying, wait until the cooking Oil is hot.

  • Add the lumpia and fry until golden brown.

  • Put a tissue paper in a plate to absorb the oil of the cook lumpia.

I was able to make 60pcs of Lumpia out of the 500 grams of ground pork and I put it on the freezer the rest of my lumpia and stock it there up to two months. Whenever we want lumpia we would just defrost some and fry.

Now let us cook the BAM-E

    BAM-E (pancit noodles) RECIPE

Ingredients

500 grams of pork meat
250 grams of Chicken liver
100 grams of Tofu
250 grams of fresh Pancit
250 grams of Bihon
200 grams of Cabbage
Half of big carrot
1 medium size of Red Bell Pepper
4 cloves of Garlic
1 medium size of Onion
Half teaspoon of ground black pepper
Half cup soy sauce
Spring onions
2 sachet of Oyster sauce
Oil to saute
5 cups of waters

 PROCEDURE

*Cut the Tofu into a your desired size
*In a pot add the Tofu then cover it with water and put in fire bring to boil then simmer it for 5-7 minutes.

  • Remove the pot from the fire then drain the water from the Tufo and let it cool.

*Wash the Pork meat and the Chicken Liver.
*Slice and cut into strips the Pork meat and the Chicken Liver.

*Wash the garlic,onion and bell pepper.
*Slice the Onion and the garlic

  • Cut into strips the bell pepper.

Prepare to SAUTE

*In a Pan add Cooking Oil
*When it is hot add the Chicken liver and cook it slightly.

*Remove the Chicken Liver and put it in a small bowl.
*Add the Onion then the garlic and saute until golden brown.

  • Add the pork meat, mix it to the spices and simmer it for 10 minutes.

  • Add the Soy Sauce,Oyster sauce and the ground pepper then combine it to the meat.
  • Transfer it into a Wok PAN ,SO it is easy to toss or combine
    *Add water and cover it

*Bring to boil and simmer it until the meat is cook

  • Wash the carrot and removed the skin.
    *Slice into strips both the cabbage and the carrot.

*Add the carrot,bell pepper,chicken liver and Tofu.

  • Combine all the ingredients well.

*Remove it from the pan and put in a plate. Set aside for a while.

*Add enough water in the Wok pan, cover it and let it boil.
*Wash the noodles and drain it

*Wash the spring onion and slice it.

*When the water stock boils, Taste it. You can add soy sauce if needed then add the noodles then tossed it and cover.

*Then let is simmer for 10 minutes.

  • Add the meat mixture and the rest of the ingredients, including the cabbage

  • Tossed all the ingredients and combine it well, simmer for a few minutes.
  • Lastly, Add the spring onions and remove the pan from the fire.

Now we have our perfect pair dishes of Lumpiang Shanghai and Bam-E. We can eat this for a snack or for lunch or dinner dishes. The pair dishes that are always present especially on birthday's, christenings, weddings and other Filipino occasions.

In my country, Venezuela, they serve very similar lumpias in Chinese restaurants, which is what I love the most. It is good that in the Philippines they are also consumed. I loved your recipe 😍

Those Lumpias look like what we call spring rolls here in Nigeria. And that dish looks very appetizing. Especially with the carrots and tofu. Can never go wrong with those.
