When did they add adverts to PeakD? I trust you see them too and it's not just me?!!!

This test of ads has been going on since about the beginning of the year ... it's not going well ... they may be removed when the testing is done.
Thanks @deeanndmathews - I am not a fan it makes PeakD look like any other forum site out there rather than the great modern app that it is.
I do not like it either for roughly the same reason ... I simply refuse to engage with them, thereby helping the test fail!
I am completely unaware of this for some reason. I have never seen an ad that I know of (or recall) on Peakd, which is good because I am aware of the financial power advertisers gain over those paid by them, and will oppose them to the limits of my power.
It may have to do with your settings -- I manually went in and turned them off once I knew that was a option.
If there is such a setting I probably automatically set it to not show me ads on principle, a principle I maintain, because advertisers necessarily gain influence over their chosen venues, and that's just the beginning of the noxious influence of stake and pandering it farms.
They posted about it a while back. It means that people who are not logged in see some ads and it will raise a little money towards running the site. We can just turn them off.
All is good, I have found a way of turning them off but now I am wondering, how effective this experiment has been??? Will it raise enough for the PeakD guys to run their servers?
The Leo people experimented with ads too. I don't know if either has published numbers on the income.
I have been seeing them early this year I think. This is what other people suggested before the Steemit fork I hope it will be a success
