Do old posts deserve a second or a third life? Has that ever happend on hive? An old post becoming relevant again, the talk of the town, so to speak?
I doubt it ever has. Nothing would push an old post to the front. That is one of the needed things, I think.
I agree. There needs to be a way for good content to be evergreen and be rewarded somehow. Maybe a community or a "container" like was mentioned below where old posts that meet certain criteria could be brought forward again.
Sure and on top of the amount of comments in a specific amount of time to trigger the revival, how about adding tips to that as well, so monetary value is still tied to it and maybe highlight the tips option so people notice that they can still be rewarded this way as well. We need to evergreen good content.
Some old posts likely do deserve a second chance, but my guess is it only happens if someone independently of Hive retweets or puts it in their Facebook feed.
The lack of financial incentive is a hurdle, I guess. If we had some kind of "container" for a refresh, I could work.
Totally agree. Some posts be so good, they deserve to be in the spotlight again. But unfortunately, not all nice and relevant posts even get noticed in the first place.

Sure why not. I mean there are many topics which deserve long-term run. So, old posts absolutely deserve a second- or even a third - life on Hive. In fact, one of blockchain's biggest strengths is that content does not just disappear into algorithmic graveyard.
But, how are we going to decide which post deserves what?
that's the trick... so far I got.
People's interest generates a tentative "For You" feed (using hivesense key words).. A blog post from 2025 gets a brand new comment. The algo registers it as a possible revival signal. Within a window of 6 hours if at least 5 or more comments happen. This post goes into the pool for suggested posts. (other for you feeds) -
Something like that... im testing...
i used to link and reference my old posts constantly. i think the monetary incentives disappear though for people so they are less likely to push them

So, Doug rewired the pump (like they instructed us to do)and it still didn't work. Found out just a bit ago the pump IS still under warranty! It'll be replaced Monday 🙌

Where I'm from, it is believed that men have the responsibility of providing while women have the responsibility of being in the kitchen. I don't really believe this tho. What's your take on this mentality?

Someone like me who grew up in an only boy's house, we don't wait for my mum too cook for us. Even now that I'm not with them, I find house chores simple to do, and I'm sure it will be that way even ..
I'm sure it will be that way even when I'm married. There are times I will do the cooking, Washing, or laundry. So, women have their lives too, they shouldn't be all stuck up in the kitchen.
And doing these things doesn't make you less of a man, rather, it makes you more responsible and aware of how hard your wife is also working to ensure the family is good.
One thing I know about people's behaviour is that - it's a reflection of how they were raised from childhood and also a reflection of the good habits they see others perform and the trauma they witnessed while growing up.
Some people grow with the mindset of - Daddy stays in the parlour after work and watch NEWS, while mummy and their sisters would be in the kitchen cooking food. This is the reality for some persons while they were growing up
So, when these type of person grow up of age, they tend to want to do what their father did. They would also want to be in the parlour watching NEWS or doing whatever, while their wife be in the kitchen with their daughter (if any) cooking dinner.
Though I don't believe in gender equality, I also don't believe that the only place for a woman is the kitchen. I am not equal to my wife, as I'm stronger, and will stand up to defend her in every situation.
However, even though I see myself as I equal to my wife, that doesn't mean her sole place is the kitchen. We are partners, unequal partners. When she's in the kitchen, it's only sensible for me to help out. Wash plates when need be,

It's been a long time notion. One I don't disagree with but shouldn't be cemented given that women have their career and jobs as well, also contributing to the family in their own way.
Besides , I grew up getting used to my dad preparing lunch for my sis and I each day after school, since his job then was a night thing.

Yesterday I wrote a post about fixing my sleep and last night I decided to check my sleep quality, which I haven't done for a long time, because it just annoys me to see how bad it is.
Since then, I managed to fix my sleep (it seems), so last night I said let's see if the app agrees with me, if my sleep quality is better, or I'm just fooling myself, because I sleep better and feel better.
Here's the result:
Back in the day when I was monitoring my sleep, I could hardly get 73 points and my deep sleep could not reach more than 63. Today I'm still below 70, which is the low end and I only got 67, but this is better than before and maybe I can work on it.

One memory I cherish a lot comes from the nights I spent with my old roommates in the hostel after exams. It was always lively, filled with jokes + dancing, and everyone had enough to eat. I miss that little ritual of us because it strengthened our bond more than ever.
Exams are really soooo stressful. Most times, after exams, there is always little to no strength to do other things..
Those little rituals after exams are always the best.. you would not think of any papers no more, rather, you would just have a genuine peace of mind, knowing that you have finished your exams
Such things also strengthen bonds with friends. It keeps the environment lively and help everyone bond more through shared enjoyment

Crazy food combos with my girls during exam period, because we all don't have money, but we were happy.
Exams are always that time when people do unhealthy stuff, most especially, when it comes to feeding. People would just be eating chaff.
Some would drink garri morning, afternoon and night, not because they don't have foodstuffs oooo but because they don't have time to stay at a place to make food.
Huhm, I have a lot of amazing moments in school and I'm even finding it hard to pick one out. But then,I think one of the most amazing time on campus is during the broke day's when we all go out in our tens to pluck mango whenever we are out of foodstuffs. We call it igbeyin poly
Schools are always filled with lovely moments. There are good memories in schools.. some are lovely, while some are not but then, after a while, those ugly memories tend to be funny when we talk about them
AHH Mango.. mango is a life saver oo....... forget.. I remember that time in school, mango really saved men them. There was two very big mango tree in front of my lodge that year.
That mango tree was part of what save us that year. Whenever mango season reaches, I reduce the amount of foodstuff I buy because I know that mango will serve as either lunch or dinner. Lol
Whenever rain falls, I'll be the first person go under the tree to pick the ones that fall. I didn't know how to climb tree, so, I either stone the mango or I'll wait for it to rain.
You'll see me and my course mate coming out with one or two buckets of mango, with some on our hands that we are licking.. we would hold our sagging trousers on our hands, licking mango with the other hand, and put the buckets handle on our hand like we're holding a bag. Lol
When we come back we would distribute the mango between all the guys in the lodge and keep enough form ourselves that would last for sometime..lol
Omo those are the good ol' days oo and I really missed it sha.
These ones are a little bit far though.
So, we go there then before going to the football field. We go with sacks and nylons 😄
A student, I still am. Looking forward to having a handful of memories to hold onto 😁. But for now, nothing can fill in 🙂.

I'm kind of stuck in the #hivegrove now - I'd have to get up at 2am to water the trees in order to make the helps I'm getting count :-D It still counts for the batches, but I can't really take advantage of them since I get up around 6am at the earliest. @shiftrox , any ideas? Maybe a function or item that one can buy to automatically water one tree once when ready? Not crucial, but might help with getting some revenue for the payouts, too.
That would definitely be really cool. I’m already thinking of a few things, going to create an inventory menu so we can have some items there. I just need to figure out exactly what we’ll be able to buy and use, but maybe a “watering drone” would be interesting, don’t you think?
Yes, a drone like that would be cool. Many ways to pan that out. A drone can only water once a day (has to re-charge), can be activated or de-activated. Or every two days, but if you buy a solar panel, it goes to each day :-D I mean, the possibilities are endless!

Spain takes on Belgium in the World Cup quarter finals. Seems like an interestimg bout.
What's your prediction? Which team do you think is going through to the semi finals?
I think Spain cruises through this one and sets up the semifinal we have all been waiting for... Spain v. France, arguably the best, deepest, and most talented teams in the tournament. It would be unfair for Belgium to upset Spain and disturb this titanic semifinal matchup.
Yeah, all of us want to see that anticipated semi final bout between Spain and France. I hope Belgium don't make that upset indeed. Let's see how it goes later today.

As an American, I'd like to see a country from the Western Hemisphere win the American World Cup! I just wish it was Brazil or Ecuador instead of Argentina again.

Yes, but it was a good match. Feeling sad for Morocco. Reaching quarter finals is no joke, they played well.
I've noticed they have been getting further in last year's in every competition.
They were trying so hard in the end. I am a bit disappointed with the extra time. When it's a well known big team they get lot's of time.
Well, I wanted them to win. Thanks to Bonno it was not more goals scored. I see France playing so confident and relaxed. Let's see with bigger teams.
It's quite laughable how we push past clothes in the wardrobe, in order to get the very ones we're in search of and some days later, come back looking for the same ones we pushed past.
Only because that moment happens to be when we need them.
