INTRODUCTION:

Anyone who is ashamed to talk about Jesus Christ now, will surely have a shameful end (Mark 8:38).

TODAY'S TOPIC:

UNTIL YOU START LIVING AS A WITNESS

BIBLE TEXTS:

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8.

KEY VERSE:

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14).

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:

May it not dawn on you only at the end of your stay on earth that you were actually sent to live as a witness.

THE MESSAGE:

As far as God is concerned, a man's life isn't measured by His material possessions, but to what degree he is able to live as a witness for Christ while he journeys on earth. If you're not yet a living witness of the reality of the personality of Jesus Christ, you're yet to start living.

According to our text for today, Jesus responded to the question asked by His disciples about whether He'll restore the kingdom to Israel. He said to them, "You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes on you and YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES ....."

During and after our new birth, we receive the resources we need to live as effective witnesses of Jesus's life and character on earth.

To be a witness is to prove to others that something is genuine or true. To attest to the authenticity of something or someone.

Although Christ is no longer physically present on earth, as living witnesses of Christ we're meant to show the world what Christ looks like and what kind of person He is.

Are you bearing witness to the life and character of Jesus Christ? If you are not, you're wasting your life and time on earth.

CALL TO SURRENDER:

If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to You a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept You into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

GENERAL PRAYER:

Father, help me to bear witness to the truth of who You are through the life I live, in Jesus' name. Amen.
