Hi! Hello! 👋
It's been a while. I have been somewhat busy as of late (and let me be honest, lazy at the same time). But finally I have some time right now write a few blogs.
So earlier this year, I went to Korea to celebrate my birthday. I've visited quite a few places without any concrete plans lol. To name a few, a library which I made a blog about here. And the infamous Han River which I also made a blog about here. And there's also this street in Myeongdong where every night it turns into a market full of food stalls and a bustling crowd of tourists.
I actually stayed around the end of this street where I can see what's happening down below. It was a very convenient location I would say. Gonna make a separate blog about the place.
I was tired from the travel but nothing's stopping me to enjoy the area. I was already very hungry because I haven't had any food since I boarded the plane and went straight to where I stayed. So I met with my friend and we ate a very late lunch then waited for the market to start buzzing.
The area is actually full of stores where you can buy lots of stuff for souvenirs. Beauty products, clothes, toys, you name it. So even you miss the night market, you'd still be able to enjoy yourself by shopping. I tell you, one day is not enough.
And so slowly stalls started popping up at around 5pm, and it was getting more crowded. I was amazed by all the food that I only saw in k dramas. Unfortunately, I already had my fill so I couldn't buy and eat all the food I wanted to try from the food stalls. But I made sure to try out those high in my priority list lol. These are just a few of the food I really wanted to try.
This is hotteok. A Korean street food pancake with sweet nut filling. I was only able to eat 1 😢.
2nd I tried was the odeng. I always see this food in kdramas and I really really wanted to try it. And it did not disappoint! It was really goooood.
For dessert, I had the torched marshmallow. There are so many filling so you can choose. But I opted for the brownie filling. I shared this one with my friend as we were so full already.
Lastly, banana milk to wash everything down. Been really looking forward to try this too. I loved it. You can just buy this in any convenience store though lol.
Here are some of the food I haven't had the chance to try. But next time I'll make sure I do.
We also found this store that sells lot's of noodles. It was heavenly. Everywhere you look, it's all noodles.
And this was what the street looked like from where I was staying.
This place is pretty easy to locate. It's just a few steps from Myeongdong station so it's very convenient. I did hear that the prices here are relatively higher if you buy food from food stalls compared to other markets. But I did enjoy myself so I didn't mind. I'll have to checkout other places to compare in the future lol.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog.
