RE: Akpu and Nigerian Jollof Rice || WE #222

in Weekend Experiences7 months ago

I learned something new, I didn't know Akpu and thanks to you I found out. Now I'm curious what it tastes like, is it sweet, sour, mild? I think it's a sweet food, and I hope to try it one day.

And the Jollof rice is really very interesting, here in Venezuela we add everything to the rice too, each to their own taste.

In addition to this, I must say that I liked the dishes where the Akpu is served, they look very pretty.

Akpu is delicious. It is made from cassava and served with any soup of your choice.
The Jollof rice is one of Nigeria's cuisines in our restaurants.

I don't know what cassava is here in Venezuela. It seems to me like a vegetable like potatoes or sweet potatoes, that's how I imagine it!

Cassava is a tuber crop, it grows like yam. When harvested, it is processed and made into flakes from which you can make garri or akpu.

Oh yes, I already saw it, here it is called "Yuka", and we usually eat it with butter and also make flour with it. She feeds a lot.

Yuka

Nice.
You went all out to get details.
The flour can be referred to as garri.

Oh lol, now i see, cassava is named YUKA here on Venezuela @mrenglish
