Hey beautiful people from hive! I hope you're doing well. Occasionally, i like to try different drinks when i dine at a cafe just out of curiosity. I'm aware that there are people who are die-hard fan of matcha but i'm not one of them, quick disclaimer. If you know me personally, i'm into coffee and tea.
However, I've been looking for some caffeine alternative because coffee gives me a lot of jitters. One drink stands out during my research- Matcha.
According to Healthline, Matcha is a kind of green tea that may be good for your heart, weight, and other aspect of health due to its antioxidant content.
Over the few months, I've tried some good matcha latte here and there and thought of creating a post dedicated to matcha latte.
Starbucks
Number one on my list, and probably the best one out there, is the matcha latte from Starbucks. Their latte has the right amount of sweetness and it's very creamy. According to the barista, they use pure matcha which is also evident in some tiny leaf particles in my cup. I ordered the hot version of their latte.
Abaca Baking Company
We opted for the cold matcha latte one fine afternoon when my sisters and i were dining at Abaca. The weather was so hot during this time but thankfully the iced latte quenched our thirst. The taste was quite bland and subtle compared to that of Starbucks. However, the freshness of the matcha can really be tasted.
The Mill
The last on my list is the matcha latte in The Mill. This one is on the sweeter side of the spectrum. Unfortunately, i don't like my matcha to be too sweet as it will taste too artificial. The color is lighter too, compared to the other matcha.
So far, i can only enumerate these 3 cafes. I'm still in the hunt for the best matcha latte in town so suggestions are very welcome in the comment section.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
